Anyone have the 3-in-1 cribs?

I've been reading several threads about transitioning from cribs to beds. We bought the cribs that convert from cribs to toddler beds and I was wondering if that helped with transitioning since they are basically sleeping in the same bed, just without the front panel. What's your experience?

We have them and changed them into toddler beds not long after they turned 2 ( 4 months ago). My DS is still falling out of bed a couple of nights a week and my DD is doing good with staying in bed. For my DS, I just make sure that I have pillows for him to land on. It is funny though, because at naptime he doesnt fall out of bed at all. They have also found a new love of jumping on their beds. I am trying to figure out what to do with that!! LOL!!

    Hope this helps!!

Mine love to jump on their beds now! They also chew on the side rails instead of where the teething protector is on the front rail!

We just switched ours yesterday to toddler beds. The front panel comes off of the bed and we put a "guard rail" up so they won't fall out. They didn't try to get out at all! I'm so thankful. I think if we didn't have a guard up they would fall out for sure.

We moved our oldest DD from crib to double bed when she was 2 1/2. It was not a pleasant experience for about 6 months and I wish we had left her in the crib longer. I think moving her to a much bigger bed was overwhelming for her, but it was the bedroom furniture that was in the room she moved to. This time around with the twins, I thought I would just move them into twins beds when it was time so we bought plain cribs. However, our cribs were recently recalled and I have decided to replace them with 3-in-1 cribs because of the toddler bed feature. I would like to get some extra time out of the cribs before we have to deal with buying new beds again. Plus I don't want to buy real toddler beds, but I would be worried about them falling out of twin beds so we would have the added purchase of bed rails. So I'm hoping the crib "toddler bed" feature would get them used to a bed.

We have those, but still using crib tents for now. As once we convert to toddler beds, naps will be completely over for us. They are spotty now.

Anyway, I've gone to PB kids and let them try out the toddler beds and twin beds and they like both. My hunch is that when we do convert (which will after they rip the crib tents to shreds), they'll be fine overnight in the beds, but will not nap anymore at all.

We used these with all three of our kids and love them. Ours have the middle transition that has a small little rail on the front with an opening where they get in and out. It helped in the beginning keeping them from falling out. We moved ours at 18 months because they were both crawling out and the tents wouldn't even keep them in. I was so worried about them falling out that we went ahead and moved them without problems. I still occassionally have to go in and tell them to get back in bed (at naptime) if I found them playing when they are supposed to be sleeping.
