    Hi,

I had pre-eclampsia with my DS who is now 14 months old. The symptoms came rapidly and I was induced at 36 weeks because I was spilling protein.

We are now pregnant with fraternal twins and i'm overwhelmed with concern that pre-eclampsia will come back. Has anyone had similar experiences?

Thank you so much for sharing!

I have an 11 year old daughter whom I had pre-eclampsia with. At first the doctor said i would definately have to have a c-section with the twins. But now i'm 15 1/2 weeks and doing so well that she has changed her mind and said we'll wait and see. So who knows? we'll have to play it by ear. So far my b/p is fine. I am taking 500 mg. of aldomet 2x's a day.

I had a mild case of pre-e with DS who is now 2. I had my membranes stripped and went into labor soon thereafter at 36 weeks, 6 days.

So far, I am 37 weeks with twins, BP is nice and low/steady and no protein in urine. I attribute the difference to eating better/more nutritiously and actually listening to my body and taking it easy, putting my feet up, taking off from work at 28 weeks...when my body told me to. With DS I tried to be super woman and did everything like normal and totally ignored my body regardless of how tired or swollen I was. This time, I have taken it much easier and been more respectful of my body and what it needed. I truly believe it has made all the difference.

    Good luck!!!!

I had mild pre-e with my first pregnancy.. high bp and protein in urine...was induced at 36 weeks. With my twin pregnancy I had no pre-e symptoms until week 30 and it was just the protein, no high bp. I was still put on bed rest due to my history... and my water broke at 34 w 6d.

I was scared to death of getting it really bad and it didn't really happen...I think that every pregnancy is different. Good luck!

Mel - do they not induce with spilling protein or can that be controlled by diet/bed rest/medication??
