I have one with SUPER curly hair (no offense to anyone, but it's fro-like) and I don't want to cut it. He's had one haircut, last year, and one semi buzz cut (mommy nearly shaved his head...lol).
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else had curly haired boys and didn't cut their hair short?? Please share pics if you have them!
    TIA

My boy just has wavy hair. We got his hair cut a few weeks ago. Pictures are on my blog. (see sig) Those pictures I guess don't show his 'curls' much. But I guess my avatar kind of does! I hated to cut it! Took me just over two years!

My son has curly hair that is very coarse, I have cut it twice now, and he's only one. I do about a 1/4" on the sides and 3/4" on the top. It's unmanageable if I let it get too long.

i remember one time a few years ago, at work this couple came in with two kids...one was probably about 2 and was not dressed in gender specific clothes. i swear he looked just like a girl, and I remember telling the girl i worked with how cute "she" was. thankfully I didn't say it to the parents. the other girl at work couldn't believe it either when we heard them address him as William. i'm not saying all curly haired boys look like girls...just throwing that out there for you to think about.

I love curly hair. Seamus has curly hair. After his bath it is super curly but when he wakes in the morning he just has a little curl. I dont plan on cutting it for a long time. It is not long in the back so I dont feel the need to cut it yet.

My nephew had great curls and his hair was a little bit long and people always commented that 'she' was so cute. That was about the time that she cut it.

Trevor's hair is really curly, but we have cut it 2 times and are keeping it cut short. I don't want people thinking he is a girl.

Both my boys have curly hair but everyone is telling me that once I cut it the curls will be gone, so I will wait as long as I can. Their hair just brushes their neck when wet but curls up, it's so darn cute....thankfully no one mistakes them for girls although the older ppl sometimes ask boys or girls.

my dh is black and i have very curly hair myself, so both my two have super curls - very tight curls but my texture (not coarse). anyway, i keep ds's hair pretty short - i like it to be between 1/2 and 1 in long, then he has gorgeous curls. on the other hand, dd's hair is taking it's own sweet time to grow, and because it is so curly it looks short even though it's at least 3 inches long now. so people mistake her for a boy even when she is in pink! lol.

I LOVED the curls my one boy had. But when they were 16 months old and we went to the state fair, I couldn't believe how many people called him a girl. I wasn't very happy, especially since they had on the same shirt and same navy shorts. :(

    So shaved it all off.

Now, he still has some strong waves when it gets long enough. Since it's summer, it's been cut short.

Elliot has beautiful curly hair that's getting pretty long. After it's washed it dries in perfect ringlets. DH keeps wanting to cut it, but I want to keep it! DH isn't one to speak, as he's had long hair ever since I've known him (which is over 20 years now) and wears it in a ponytail.

Yes, people sometimes mistake him (Elliot, not DH) for a girl, but it doesn't bother me. I figure that as he gets older if it bothers him we'll cut it. I've heard so many stories of curls not growing back, and that would make me very sad (although DH has very curly hair, as does my father and my sister, so hopefully the curls are here to stay).

Here's a recent photo of Elliot, so you can see what you think.

p.s. - it actually is just now long enough to pull it back in a ponytail, which he loves to do, but then pulls it out after a minute
