i have a SBS stroller that i really like, but i think that there are a couple things that a tandem would be better for. i am only looking to spend around $200 and reading reviews doesnt help much because there are so many different opinions!!

i was lookind at the kolcraft contour but i read that the seats are really shallow and it wasnt very useful after children are about one year old.

    any suggestions or opinions???

I have the kolocraft coutours. My babies are only 9 mo but I have a niece and friends kids who have sat in it at ages 2 and 3 and they didn't complain. The seats are more shallow but the feet part does fold up.

I so wanted the Contours but there were so few opinions/ratings when I bought a double stroller 6 mos ago that I went with the tried and (for me) true duoglider. I'm still sort of kicking myself but I'm not truly regretting my "safe" decision. Good luck trying to decide.

    Hi ladies!

We bought the Countours Tandem, our babes are 4 months old and so far so good! Also, my friend Lisa who lives on our street also has the same stroller for her b/g twins that are 10 months old and she raved about it to me so I went out and bought it at BRU.

I have to say, it is easy (idiot proof) to use without reading the instructions and turns on a DIME. I LOVE it so far. We recently were at the Boston Childrens Museum with our older two children and ran into a gal who had the stroller too and was using it for her 3 year old and 18 month old and the 3 year old fit just fine.

I did a lot of research on a double stroller and almost went with the Chicco Citta Twin or the Combi Twin Savvy strollers.....but I bit the bullet, and bought the one my neighbor with twins recommended.

For $199, how can you go wrong? I feel the quality is excellent, functionality is awesome with so many options, the storage area under the seats is really big, has two cup holders, a lidded compartment in between the cup holders, turns SO easily and the seating options are so cool. Also, it tilts back nicely, the sun shades come down far enough and I am happy with it. It fits great in the back of our Yukon XL Denali folded up. It is a bit heavy though, but our arms are strong from lugging babies around all day.......so you will be fine picking it up to load it into your vehicle no problem.

    Good luck! ~jillian

I didn't say this before, but I love, love, love my contours. It fits in the back of my elantra, it holds the car seats or they can sit in the big seats, I can push on dirt and gravel pretty well. It turns nicelsy and doesn't feel heavy to push. I love that the seats can face any direction. I can load $100 of groceries in the botton so I only take my stroller and don't push a cart to go shopping. It reclines easily if they fall asleep. They dont' fight over foot space. I love the big basket this is what sold me on it. I had never seen one before I bought it but I don't regret it. I have talked several other people who have seen it into buying it.

I just bought this stroller and love, love, LOVE it!!! The back reclines completely, in case you're out and have a little sleeper. The canopies make it nice and dark back there too. It's soooo smooth and it's very easy to fold up. I also like that it's nice and high, which is easier to "drive" for tall mommies and daddies, like my DH and me. It comes with 2 cup holders each on the front and back, one for sippy, one for snacks. The storage basket on the bottom is very large. Go to the store and "test drive" it...it will speak for itself. Good luck with your decision! Oh, I got it for around $200 at BBrUS with a 15 percent off coupon. :)

I was perfectly happy with the Duoglider, I only stopped using it because my DD's were climbing out and I needed a 5 point harness! It served us well until almost age 2.

I have the Combi Counterpart II Tandem and love love love it, mainly b/c it's so light compared to most double tandem strollers. It fits in the back of my tiny Toyota, is easy to open/close, and the babies seem very comfortable in it. We started out attaching the carseats in it, but now they sit in the 'big' seats and seem very cozy and comfy.

We have the Kolcraft Contours and have been very pleased with it. It's very smooth and my girls are very comfortable in it. I also find that out of my 4 double strollers (two SBS and two tandems), this one seems to provide the most shade. It folds up nicely too. We used this stroller at the March of Dimes walk on Sunday and received so many compliments on it. It really is worth the money.

I have a Graco Quatro Tour Duo, and I love it. We are still using it with the infant carseats, but it manuevers and handles great for basic terrain and through crowded stores.

I'm in the process of getting a SBS, but there are situations where I anticipate still using our tandem. It's been pretty good to us thus far, just a basic Graco Duoglider: Graco Family Tree

The main cons I have with this stroller I think are ones that any tandem would have: 1) I doesn't steer well outside for us (dirt/bumpy roads), but stores are fine. 2) Now that the girls are out of their infant seats, the child in the back is tall enough to use her feet to push against the front seat and boy does that make the kiddo in front mad! 3) no real snack tray for rear child.

Oh, and the seat recline is a bit funky, only fully reclined in the back and slightly reclined in the front, but my girls don't sleep in the stroller anyway, so this hasn't been an issue for us.

And it was only $130, which was a definite bonus!

We love our Kolcraft Contours Options stroller. Easy to maneuver, great shade, big lower basket... and the seating configuration options-- fantastic!!! I have not liked any of our others but love this one!

We have the Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem - and I ditto what all the PPs said about it. We really like it. It is heavy to lift in/out of the car, but you get used to it. And I think it's a great value for the money.
