Anyone have a numb belly?

Hey there! Any of you mama's have completely numb skin on your belly's from all the stretching? A fairly large circular area in my mid belly is completely numb. I can't even feel it when I itch the skin there. It's kind of weird and I was wondering if I was alone on this one.

My skin isn't "numb", but feels sunburned. It is horrible!! However, my Dr. told me that when your skin stretches so much it brings your nerve endings to the surface, which makes your skin very sensitive. She said some women feel numbness, others feel a burning sensation, for others it is just extremely itchy. So...based on that I'd say what you are feeling is very normal!

 

That won't go away until about 3-4 months PP. I had that with my girls, and I kept asking about it too. After they were born I was afrain I'd never feel my belly again!

It WILL go away, just don't be alarmed if it lasts for a few months PP.

 

That is so funny to read this post this morning. I was just commenting to my DH last night how there is a fairly large area on the left side of my belly that is numb. I was wondering the same thing!

 

The center of my belly feels uncomfortably sensitive. My belly button (which is popped out) is tender too

 

Mine alternates from hyper-sensitive and numb. I still have it 3 weeks after my girls were born and I was just asking people on the first year forum if my skin would ever feel normal again. I'm assured that it will, but it will take time. It's annoying.
