My dd trained pretty early and was doing well and then started regressing and just never got back on track. She wears a pull-up in which she pretty much 90% of the time pees in. She poops in the toilet.
Daycare wont allow me to send her in panties until she is mostly trained (an accident here and there is okay). However, I think she is just using her pull-up like a diaper.
She is home from daycare for the next four days and I thought about hitting the pt-ing pretty hard. Any suggestions, tips, techniques that might be helpful?
I will say that sticker charts havent worked in the past (I am willing to try again though) she really has no problem peeing in her underwear...so that's what I am dealing with.
It's just really frustrating to me because she'll be 4 in January and doesnt seem to care at all.

    Help!!!!!!!!!!

All 3 of my boys were 3.5 when they pee-trained (little guys poop-trained then too). Lennon was just a month shy of 4 with pooping.

My little guys, however, peed anytime they had underwear on. I had to potty-train them with just pants - no underwear - and that is what got them to go on the toilet. Have you tried just putting pants on her - or no pants at all (we did no pants at all for a few days)? My boys seemed to anticipate needing to pee better without anything putting pressure in that area. They also hated the way the pee trickled down their legs when they didn't have underwear on.

    Good luck!

Thank you Jori, I think I will try the no underwear starting tonight when we get home from daycare and all day tomorrow. And making her help me clean up her messes.
My husband also suggested a clear jar and letting her put a penny in it every time she uses the toilet-this may be effective, she's sort of in to money lately and buying things.
    Wish me luck!!!

I am feeling like a big fat failure right now!

Jon trained 3 months before turning 4. What his teacher (I worked with her) suggested, was to take something he REALLY wanted, and put it high up on the shelf in the bathroom, so he could see it, but not get it. When he had a success, then he got the prize. After a couple of successes, we spaced out what he had to do to get the prize. By 2 weeks, he didn't need a prize at all, and was trained. For him, it was V-smile games, and I stocked up on them at a huge sale.

Well, if you are then I am too!! The twins potty trained at 3 years, 1 month... nights were a different story, but it worked. Evan on the other hand is proving to be a handful when it comes to potty training. I've tried a few times and he just doesn't care. I do not try to use pull ups. I only used them when they went to preschool. I use the gerber cloth training pants. I'm sorry. I am in the same boat... I have a boy who refuses NOT to go potty in his pants. He is successful every time if we sit him on the toilet. He is one who goes a little bit at a time. :( Small bladder? I don't know, but know that you are not alone!

We haven't even started. They don't care... stay in their poop until I notice the smell. They love sitting on the potty but don't do anything on it. I'm going to tackle it in 2 weeks when school is closed for the week, we'll see how that goes... but at this point I don't even think they know what it feels like to pee and poop! I talk about it a lot, but nothing's working... they'll ask to sit on the potty after pooping. Sigh.

I have stickers and sticker charts but I'm not sure my kids will get the concept yet.

I would do panties and pennies! Call it that!

4 days of panties and pennies and start building up the hype NOW. We did a sticker chart for days dry. If the day was dry, they got a sticker. After ten days they would get a toy. Then after 15 days of staying dry in a row, they each got a second toy.

Lesley and Jackie, you are not failures
I do like the pennies idea and the wanted item on the shelf idea too. One of my good friends, her son was not poop trained until he was 5. He absolutely refused to poop in the potty. He would hold it until the evening, when he got his pull up for bed time. He was a few months shy of 5 when he finally starting using the toilet for poop. My friend just told him that one day he was going to get tired of pull ups and he did.

You guys are totally not failures! Do you know any kindergartners that are not potty-trained(with the exception of medical and/or developmental issues)? I don't! They will go eventually, don't be so hard on yourselves!

    A little update:
We took the pull-up off last night and she is just wearing leggings (no panties) and we made a special jar for 'pennies for peeing' and she has 7 pennies in her jar as of now and so far no accidents. She plans to buy new markers and paper with her money. It's going very well. I think if we keep at it hard for the next four days we maybe 'trained'....oh I hope!!!

Thanks for your support and suggestions! I really appreciate it! I was feeling pretty down about myself yesterday.

My niece is 4. She turned 4 at the end of September. She does have special needs, but being dumb is not one of them. LOL She is very smart but did just get day potty trained a month ago. She wore a watch that told her to go at certain intervals. Pretty soon it would go off and she would make a decision (vocal) not to go but to go when she had to. It seems to be working.
