Well this is a spin off to my original post from yesterday regarding my slow recovery from my third c/s 4 weeks ago. I have been passing some pain I am having off as either incision pain, gas pains or that my uterus is cramping and shrinking.

I am posting again because my prior two c/s's were great, I bounced back quickly and didnt have pain at 4 weeks out from the surgery. Just discomfort and got on with my life from what I remember.

Did any of you have a bladder infection after your c/s? When I go to the bathroom I have some bladder pain, no burning while I am going.....but I feel like I need to go more and cant or if I do go more I really have to try. (sorry tmi!) Then afterwards it burns internally in the area where my bladder is just above my pubic bone, so that I why I suspect a bladder infection. I also have moments in bed where I am SO hot and have to throw the covers off, but I chalked that up to postpartum hormones, not a fever.

I have a call into my OB, I did have my 2 week check up and didnt mention any of this as I thought it was normal post partum c/s pain. The only thing I did mention was that my bleeding was bright red blood and pouring out of me at times....which he assured me was normal as I was overdoing it. So I have totally scaled back and have been resting a lot and listening to my body and my bleeding is normal now. (cant wait for it to stop though!)

okay, any insight is appreciated. Not fun to be me right now......had a big old pity party last night over my slow recovery, being sleep deprived and not feeling physically strong right now.

thanks for listening and sorry for the whining! ~jillian

I got a kidney/bladder infection 8 weeks post c-section. Not sure if it had anything to do with the c-section per say though..

Sounds like you have a bladder infection...the sooner you get it checked out the better because it can get to your kidneys and that's no fun at all!

I had a bladder infection that I waited until it got to my kidneys, and then in my blood before going in- STUPID me!!! I say go in if you even think it could be one. I did have a difficult vaginal delivery and not a c/s.

    Hope you feel better soon!

Well I have a bladder and kidney infection and a fever.......found out yesterday after going to the doctor. My fever is the tip off as they wont have the culture from my urine until Monday, which I guess is the absolute proof. Started taking Peridiem and an antibiotic. All of my symptoms were indicative of a bladder/kidney infection.

Thanks for your posts Kristi and Melissa, you were right! :) ~jillian

it's actually more likely a side-effect of the catheters they use. the c/s itself won't do it- but it's a sad and common thing to happen w/ catheters. get to your dr asap, you don't want to be in the hospital w/ a kidney infection.

    so sorry!!! it's agony! :hug99:

As a result of the catheter I got a bladder infection turned kidney infection. It was horrible. Get it taken care of asaply before you get the super high fever/chills/aches/I-wanna-die feeling that comes with the kidney infection.

I got a terribly high fever several days after I got home from having my oldest child. The doctor told me to head to the ER because they were worried about complications from my delivery. It turned out to be a bladder infection. I wasn't having any symptoms. My delivery was vaginal though. As the previous poster said, it's the cathedar that causes problems, not the c/s.

I have had a UTI with all of my deliveries Jillian. Vaginal and c-section(from the cath most likely). Glad you found out what it was and hope you are feeling better soon. :hug99:

Oh my Jillian! I wish I had seen this post sooner. I am glad that you went in and that you are on meds now. It should go away quickly.

I just wanted to tell you that I have had loads of UTIs since my c-section. My first was about a month post-partum, and I have continued to get them since. I have even had a lovely kidney infection too. They are the worst.
