I was wondering if anyone have used these and have any opinion on them. Cool Downs Neck Wrap

While not wanting to be weighted down with carrying around too many "cooling" items on our trip to Florida...if these do work I know we can always use them on other trips. (We do have little misting fans already)

My two girls are "girly girls" and balk at the heat! I remember when they were two, I'd set up a water table, get my book, drinks for all of us, put on the sunscreen, hats, glasses...it would take at least 20 minutes to get prepared to play outside and after being outside for 10 minutes, they are wanting to go back inside!

They are much better now and we've been going outdoors to the golf range and the park in the Atlanta heat to help prepare them. But you can see them "wilting" after a while.

    Thanks for any info!!

I haven't used them, but it's interesting for sure! It might be worth the try!!

I have never tried them, either, but at t-ball earlier this summer we had some really hot days and I did see some kids wearing them. I don't know if they worked or not, but they must have helped somewhat, they wore them more than one time :good:

Thanks for the replies...I am going to go ahead and order a couple. They were inexpensive and if it does work it will be well worth it. I'll be happy to share if they work after we return if anyone is interested. :)

The band director I worked with used them. He has MS and was very sensitive to the heat. They helped him a lot. Another idea is to just wet down a bandanna with cool water and tie it around your neck. You just take it off and refresh it every once in a while.

Thanks for sharing that Stacy...I may have to get a third one for me...or a bandanna! :D

Dh just got a box full of these things (he works outside here in Fl often). He would really like a full back wrap! They are okay to use, but do have a bit of a slime feel to them. It is worth giving it a try for your girls.

I think they work well. I have occasionally put one on my head to help with a migraine.

My parents bought some for my college graduation this past May. President Obama spoke, and we live in Phoenix, so it was 100+ degrees and we had to get there 5 hours before the event began (because the President was there). In that situation, they were a godsend. They were magnificent! I didn't use one for very long, but I can say they kept cool really well and while they are kind of wet and maybe a bit slimy, when you are that hot you really don't care! If you just need something to take the edge off, they may not be worth the slime factor, but if you're going to be in some serious heat, it's worth it.

Let us know what you think!!
