Anyone experienced with d&c

I had to have a d&c with this miscarriage. I have read so much on it. Some say it hindered their chances to conceive some got pregnant right away. Some didn't get periods.
Can you tell me your experience?

 

I have had a D&C, not for a miscarriage, but for other reasons. I had no problems, my period started back regularly within a month or so, and I wasn't planning on getting pregnant again but ended up pregnant with twins about 18 months later (without trying).

:hug: I had to have a d&c my second miscarriage. I was already doing fertility treatments so I can't specifically say if it hindered anything, I had to wait 2 cycles to heal before we started treatments again and my cycles were very short, 20-25 days. But my period is very inconsistent due to PCOS anyways so again, not sure if it was from the d&c or pcos. Anyways we conceived the twins through IUI 6 months after my d&c.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this My dr really urged us not to ttc right away because it could increase the risk of another m/c if you don't give your uterus time to heal. 2-3 cycles is what they recommend, but my fertility specialist said we could try again after 2 cycles. None of us expected my cycles to be so short but I was so thankful not to have to wait any longer.

I had a D&C in March after my miscarriage. We waited three cycles (my first started about 2 weeks after the procedure) to try again and got pregnant right away. I think as long as its done well, there shouldn't be any issues getting pregnant again if you didn't have issues before.

I had a D&C almost exactly a year ago because of a miscarriage. We had to wait 2 cycles before trying again too. I didn't bleed that much right after the procedure which I heard that some women do. My cycles have never been regular (PCOS) and they weren't after the procedure, but I wasn't surprised by that.

I'm still not pregnant again though.

 

I had a D&C about a year ago. My period was wonky for the first 2 months then returned, much heavier afterward. We tried from Sept through this month with no success and we are seeing the RE next month. I have to say that I've never had painful periods before the D&C and now I do.

 

I have had two in the last two months and I am having a third with my upcoming surgery next Tuesday. I have had heavy periods after each, due for one yesterday hoping it isn't as bad. I am so sorry for your loss! :hug:

 

I am so sorry for your loss. I had a D&C in January of 2009 and conceived the twins in March of 2009. Usually after a D&C it is easier to conceive

 

I'm sorry for your loss. I had one in 1999 after a miscarriage. My periods were the same after. We waited 6 months to try again and I got pregnant right away.
