Anyone else's kids "trash" or "destroy" their crib tents?

I see that there are several now who are using crib tents. We have been using ours for MAYBE six months and the boys have trashed theirs! One of them, the mesh has a hole in it...that keeps growing of course. The other one has a 3-4 inch tear in it where the mesh and nylon come together at the top, and the end of crib nylon piece w/ the velcro is barely hanging on by a thread! Both boys bounce around in their cribs before nap and lean on the ends and make it pull. It's only a matter of time before they "escape" or it becomes a safety issue. I was just curious if my two were the only two who have done this.

We have had ours since the boys were about 23 months and the only thing I have noticed is the seam by the corner of the mattress has a small rip but other then that it seems they are holding up so far. They haven't been jumping around crazy recently they actually go to sleep when I put them up there I think I have just found their nitch as far as the right times to put them up...thank god!

Nope, because we never used them ! I put them in toddler beds as soon as they could climb out. Although, Jayden COULD climb out, but rarely did so he stayed in his crib a little longer than Jesse.

My dd thankfully has not destroyed her crib tent. If your boys have put holes in them I would say it's time to get rid of them. My neighbor's two year old son suffered a neck injury from playing around in the crib and a broken down crib tent. He is recovering but not well. Not to scare you, but just a word to be careful.

ALex has a tent and ittook him a year to destroy it. I tried so hard to have him sleep without it over xmas break, but finally broke down and took out Nicky's tent. Nicky had the original tent and Alex destroyed it within a week. That was during nap time, so we took a fieldtrip at nap time and purchased him a new tent. Lets hope this one last until he is in college, so I don't have to worry about him staying in bed and sleeping.

It took them a while but one of the things that finally precipitated our move to big beds was that their tents were destroyed. It took them 18 months, though.

Mine have already learned how to put their hand up through the slats and push the zipper up past the covering and unzip it. It IS time to switch them to toddler beds, but I just can't stomach the thought.
