Anyone else's kids not adjusting to the time change?

There normal wake up time has been around 7:30 for a long time. However, this is now switched to 6:30 with the time change. <_< It is killing me! I am so tired and they are cranky because everything else is being pushed back. I can't let them go to bed earlier because I work in the evenings and they are at my mom's until bedtime!

Anyone have an suggestions? Last year it just happened naturally, but not this year. BTW, I know blacking out their windows won't work. We tried it!

Stacy, I feel your pain. Piper made the switch with no issues, she slept late the first morning and has been on the new schedule ever since. Cricket, on the other hand, now wakes up at 5:30am (instead of the planned 6:30am). She fell asleep during breakfast two days aga, and had an absolute meltdown yesterday afternoon from tiredness. I feel so bad for her, but just have no idea how to make it better.

For what it's worth, I always have a hard time with the time change too, and am now waking up an hour early too. Time changes stink.

We're having trouble too. I'm trying to leave them in their cribs and not get them right away. They are waking at 6 am and getting upset by 6:30. They were sleeping until 7 no problem. We have been putting them to bed a bit earlier, but trying to make it later bit by bit all week. They are a mess by 7 pm now.

Time changes stink. Esp falling back IMO.

We're having a problem too! They were waking at 7:00 now, it's 6:00...YUCK for me LOL!!
Also, at night they are getting tired too early instead of their bedtime at 7:00 we've had to move it to 6:15-6:30.
I'm hoping that they will adjust soon!

I would be thrilled with most of your times, my DS has been awake at 4am everyday since sunday. I pray every night for at least a 5:30 am wake up. I am also getting up once a night with my twins so my sleep is almost nothing. I am hopeful that it will get better soon, things could be worse!

We never seem to bounce back. I remember last spring when we sprung forward - they had been waking at 6:30am all winter, after we sprung forward they started sleeping in until 7:30 and it never changed. Likewise, they had been sleeping until 7:30am all summer and with this DST they are now waking at 6:30. Jack will lay in their quietly all day if I let him so I have no problem with him. THat being said, Lily starts crying out the minute she wakes up. I have been trying to leave her until 7 or 7:15 on a good day (as long as she is not too upset). This morning I really did not hear her until 7:00 but I am sure it was a fluke. I just think some kids are more sensitive to things like that. I am sure Jack and Lily will wake around 6:30 until the time comes to Spring forward again!

I guess I do feel somewhat fortunate as 6:30 is a least doable, I would not be very good at the 5:30 or 4:30am wake up times some people are dealing with!

Yep - i know it is only one hour but it has changed them. Savannah was up at 6:20 this am and mom was watching them at my house. Normally she is not up until 7:30 or later... :( I hope it adjusts soon but so far it has mornings messed up... BY the time 7:30 comes around they are both a mess..

Man, it's definitely been rough around here this week. We had not had any issues with changes until this particular one.

They are up early - but I have also been leaving them in their cribs.

They are SO tired for naps - but I have been trying to keep them up until the "new" 1pm. Made it to 12:45 yesterday

They are SO hungry for dinner - but I have been trying to push dinner to the "new" 5:30. Made it to 5:15 yesterday

They are SO tired for bed - we are also pushing this. Last night we made it until the "new" 7:30, but it was a stretch.

They are having more tantrums, crying and overall whining. We also gave them the sniff flu vaccine, so I don't know if I'm getting the effects of that coupled with the time change, but I'm going nuts.

I know my 6:30 wake-up seems doable, but we are on a much later schedule than most people. My DH never gets home until at least 7, so, in order for us to eat dinner together and for him to spend time with them, we spent the last 3 years pushing bedtime back to 9:30. As a result, their entire schedule is pushed back. This became really important when I started working evenings two days a week and we didn't get home until then. Now, because of work, I can't even let them go to bed early!

I am just praying they start sleeping in. I can't handle the crankiness!
