Okay now....I'm feeling incredible stupid here, however am I the only one that has infant ID's that does have trouble telling them apart? My Uncles are ID's and I couldn't tell them apart either unless I observed there behavior.

My dr had ID boys and had trouble telling his apart too.

    Just curious.

    Thanks,

I have read lots of posts on here where others have a hard time as well. They paint their toes a different color.

When I am with my babies, I can tell them apart most of the time... but in photos later, if I don't have them labeled soon, I can't tell. It's weird. There have been times where I've not been super sure who is who - if DH changed their outfit, or they are both down to a diaper - so we painted one of Hannah's toenails before we took her hospital bracelet off just so we would have a safeguard. I'm petrified of mixing them up and not knowing who is who!

I also get people who ask me if I'm sure I know who is who... it annoys the heck out of me!

I too have id girls. Funny thing is I can tell them apart in pictures, but sometimes I can't tell them apart when they are next to each other. My mom is watching them during the day now (I work FT) and I painted one toenail on one baby. Now when I get home from work I always double check to make sure I am calling the right one by name!

I would like to paint all their toes, but they won't stay still!!

No worries girl. I get mine mixed up all the time. I don't have to do polish because Luke has red mark that God gave him. See... God knew how I am. What a blessing. lol

When they were first born, we labeled their hats with their names until we got comfortable telling them apart. Unfortunately as they've gotten older, they're looking even more alike! They have to be next to each other for us to be sure.

At birth my boys were a pound apart and one was very pale and the other was bright red so it was easy! As they got older it got a bit more difficult, especially in pictures. Somedays when I get home from work I have to stop and look closely or I might think I'm holding Finn but I'm actually holding Van. That is a very disorienting feeling! I think the older the get the less they look alike (or I'm more used to their subtle differences.)

My girls are about a pound different and Emily has a "stork bite" between her eyes - if not for these things it would be tough.

At 2 years I don't have trouble anymore - but when my boys were your boys' age - definitely. Even though Jacob was almost a pound bigger than Boden, they were very, very identical. Not anymore. :)

There have been lots of times when I've mistaken one of my girls for the other one. The older they get the easier it is to tell them apart b/c they make different facial expressions. If I only see one of my girls it's a 50/50 chance I'll get it right. But if I can see them side by side then I can tell. Their personalities are very different so I think that affects their facial expressions. Plus now one of my girls has a bunny she carries everywhere she goes so you can always tell by who has the bunny.

That is exactly true for me. If I have them both side by side, peice of cake, but if we separate them, its tough, even with Luke's stork bite that can look very faded in certain light. And the pictures we had done.... some of them we just aren't sure. We decided on those pictures that we'll pick who we think it is in the picture and stick to that story forever and they'll be none the wiser.. hehehe.
