Ok since the twins were born everytime I wash my hair it is falling out in clumps. My friends are telling me this is normal after pregnancy but it never happened with my other two. ANYONE ELSE?? HELP I might be bald soon!! :umm:

I think it's fairly common, it happened to me! If you are concerned though, you might want to get your thyroid checked, as pregnancy can sometimes effect it.

OMG! Were you just spying on me in the shower :p ? I am just now noticing it and my boys are 3 months old. I've heard it was pretty much guaranteed to happen but I thought I lucked out!

The exact same thing happened to me just before the babies were 4 months. I was so worried - I was cleaning my brush every time I used it, filling the drain in the shower with my hair and every time I turned around I needed to vacuum because the floor seemed to be covered in my hair (not to mention the babies - every time I looked at them they had one of my hairs stuck to their shirts). I was about to make a doctor's appointment because I thought there was something very wrong...but then someone posted the same problem on this board (or maybe my other board) and everyone with 4-month-old babies chimed in that they were going through the same thing.

Something must happen with hormones at about 4-months post partum, and maybe it's intensified when you have twins because you've had so many hormones running through your system. For me the hair loss lasted almost 2 months but now I'm back to normal (with no bald spots, either!).

Yup, happening to me still . . . I didn't start losing my hair til the boys were about 2 months, and I've been losing it since. I too hope it stops soon!

same here my hair has just started falling out. It has started out kind of slow but I am not sure that it will stay that way. Hopefully it won't all fall out. hehehe. That would suck.

Oh yeah--the babies are now 10-1/2 weeks old, and about 2-3 weeks ago my hair started migrating off my head big time especially when I comb it after a shower. My understanding is that your hair doesn't get thicker--you just lose far less due to hormonal changes during pregnancy. After pregnancy it simply returns to it's normal cycle of growth/rest/fallout. So basically you start losing all your hair that was supposed to fall out during the previous 9 months!

Wow - how strange. I just took a shower and dried my hair and thought OMG where did all this hair come from! My twins are 15 weeks, and this seems to have JUST started!!

I posted the same thing when the girls were 4 months or so, I thought I would go bald! It seemed to stop at about 7 months, and then I had to deal with the regrowth. Now I only have to worry about losing hair when my DD pulls it out approximately 50 times a day! <_<

Yes! It started falling out about 14 weeks postpartum and hasn't stopped. It has slowed down some...
My hairdresser told me to expect it and not to freak out. Still...when it started happening, it was unnerving. She assured me that I would not go bald! It's a hormonal thing and will eventually level out.
