Anyone else have girls who like "boy" things most?

My girls are crazy about tractors. There is a show on the Baby First channel that features a red tractor named "Tec". About the time they started watching that little show, they got to ride on their daddy's red farm tractor and have been crazy about them ever since. We even named our riding lawn mower "Baby Tec" and I take them on rides a few times a week. Now, if I want to keep them occupied, I'll give them some of DH's tractor magazines and they'll carefully flip through them, yelling out and squealing at the tractors. I rotate in the horse magazines, but they're not at all interested. How can little girls be indifferent to horses?!

Anyone else have girls who like boy things more than typical girl things, or vice versa? Do I just keep indulging their pure joy of all things tractors? I'm considering doing a tractor-themed birthday party for them in two weeks, but worry the grandparents and relatives will think I'm kooky. I know the girls would love it! I think I'll make the girls happy...

They make pink John Deere stuff. :D So that should solve your tractor and your girly issues at once.

My boys play with dolls! Not all the time, but when our little girl neighbor comes over and wants to play "baby" they do. I'm ok with it and so is my DH. Kids want to do what their parents do and if you live on a farm with a big red tractor - hey! tractors are cool! Go with what they like! They may eventually love horses - then you will wish they would have stuck with the tractors.

I'd totally go for the tractor-themed birthday party. Your girls will be thrilled, and your relatives will get over it when they see how happy the girls are. :)

Right now my guys are pretty typically "boyish" in what they like, but if they were into something traditionally "girlie" I'd indulge them and let everyone else think whatever they want! ;) My guys LOVE tractors, so they'd probably get along swimmingly with your girls! :D

If you go for it, you need to post pics!!

Thanks for nudge - I ordered the tractor party supplies, and mixed in a few barn animals with it so it wasn't too hard-core.

I totally forgot about the pink John Deere things! I searched on Amazon and found a pink tractor toy - how fun!

Yes, tractors are much lower-maintenance than horses, but they don't talk to you or smell nearly as good.

I would totally go with a tractor theme party! Your girls will love it!
My DD is currently obsessed with race cars and my DS wanted his toenails painted like his sisters. I think it's cute

I'd vote for a tractor party over any of those daggone princess parties. :) Either way, it's nice to oblige your kids interests, when it's truly harmless, as it is in the case.

My boys love Dora--I want to get them a Dora backpack. If they wanted a Dora party, I'd let them have it.

Love the tractor party idea!! That will be so much fun for them!!! My dd isn't really into the "boys" stuff but she's tougher and more daring then ANY of my boys  But my ds Jake loves loves loves pink! He wore his sisters pink clogs for a week until we had to hide them because he was getting blisters. If I can find another pair I will buy them for him.
    Gotta love it!

My daughter is almost 7 and she loves boys' stuff. She watches Star Wars, has a collection of Bakugans and "plays hoops" with the boy across the street.
On the other hand she is very pretty, girlish girl...lol
I just go along with that stuff. We may have a pirate party this year...

Yes, I would go with the tractor theme... sounds cute.
