Anyone else "growing funny?"

Okay, so I knew my stomach muscles were shot after carrying the twins. Now, with this pregnancy, it seems like my upper belly is growing faster than my lower belly. I guess it's just that my poor ab muscles just can't hold in everything that's shifting around. It's very frustrating because after losing so much weight, I feel like I just look like I'm getting fat again. Anyone else dealing with this? When can I expect my tummy to round out and look pregnant?

 

Same with me! Totally. My top belly just popped out. Everyone thinks I look "due any minute". But I still got 4 months! LOL You are so not alone!

 

I was that way with the twins. I literally carried them SO high that I had hardly anything belly below my belly button. It was very weird. I carried them really high and wide (not out in front). it was not "normal" LOL! But, I had never had any kids before, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I felt like all of my belly was up top with the twins. I'll have to see what this time brings.

 

YES! Happen here as well! My top is still a little bigger than the lower half, looks kinda funny actually. The OB said it was perfectly normal though.

 

I think early on it can have a lot to do with how full your stomach/intestines are... I had bleeding in the first trimester and a very irritated uterus...so my intestines would periodically empty themselves (sorry tmi) pretty thoroughly due to this irritation. This would happen probably every 4 days... and I began to notice that my belly did seem much bigger up top during my "okay" days...then suddenly it would be like my belly got drastically smaller. So I think it can be the intestines that make you appear bigger up top..until they are kind of pushed out of the way by a nice round uterus. (Then they are still there, just hidden by your nice baby belly!! LOL!)
