Anyone else going bald!?

OMG, I am finding my hair everywhere! This morning, I found one in DS's diaper, which only made me freak out about the stories I've heard of hairs wrapping around fingers and "other" baby parts, cutting off circulation and causing extreme pain. I am constantly picking hairs off of the babies (not to mention my pillow, brush, furniture, pretty much every surface in my house!)

Is this a hormone thing? Does it have something to do with BF'ing? Please, someone tell me this is normal and I won't be bald by their first birthday. [IMG]

    Thanks!

Yup normal! I'm going through this now too. This happened with my singelton as well. I think it has something to do about hormones leveling out.

Definitely normal. It happened every time with me and is still coming out this time. It will stop! Evidently when you are pregnant you don't lose the amount of hair that you would normally lose (my hair was always so much thicker when I was pregnant), then when the hormones level out, all that hair that you would have normally lost anyway, comes out. It looks like a lot and freaked me out the first time, but you won't go bald! [IMG]

Yes, it is 'normal', but very weird. Mine starting falling out at that same time, 4 months post. It finally did stop, but I bet for a solid 3 months I thought sure I was going to be a Britney!

Yep...hormone thing. And...we ended up in the ER as a hair (thank God not mine) wrapped around my daughter's toe and it was so bad it took a long time for three doctors to get it off. I look at their fingers and toes now all the time. The doctor said if we had little boys that he would also recommend looking at the baby's penis to make sure a hair doesn't get wrapped around that, too. [IMG]

Totally normal. Mine started falling out about 3 months and lasted until 7mos. Now it's coming back in. I have lots of little short hairs aroudn my hairline that I can see coming in. My hairdresser was coloring it a couple weeks ago and said I have them coming in all over!

Losing hair is a postpartum thing, whether you bf or ff you lose all that that you didn't lose during pregnancy like a pp said. I seem to lose a ton of it, but I have really long hair!

Normal. It was about when the girls were 5 months that I ended up getting my hair cut shorter and that actually helped. It didn't seem to fall out as much after that. I was totally scared I was going bald! Don't worry, it will slow down.

Yup and it's been more trouble than I would have ever imagined. DH bought some stuff to declog the shower drain because of all the hair. Last night, my cat decided to go in there and drink some. Luckily he didn't ingest any! It just burnt his tongue a bit, and the vet said he will be fine, but still.....

I am glad you posted this. I have been losing my hair like crazy! It is everywhere. It is driving me nuts. I don't think I lost this much hair with my first, maybe a twin pregnancy doubles the loss. [IMG] It is good to hear that it will level off.

Oh, I remember this from last time and am not looking forward to it happening again! It was 4 months for me, too, and I felt like a shedding dog. At least this time it'll happen in the summer and won't be all over me at work.

I have really long hair and I can't believe how much of it is all over this house! Mine started about 5 months with my singelton - but it started right away after birth with these twins. I swear I am going to go bald! And yes, we, too, had to unplug the shower drain with the first pregnancy. I am in desperate need of a highlight but am afraid it will cause more damage! Oh well, it did grow back with the first pregnancy and I know it will again.

Yes, I lost tons of hair right after my babies were born and it seemed to last a long time. My hair is now growing back and it looks AWFUL! I look like I am in Kindergarten and cut my bangs. My hair is about 1 inch around my hairline. YUCK!

I have a comb over, no kidding. I lost a ton of hair on the sides of my head and it is just starting to come in again!

I'm getting that too. DH said that I needed to stop pulling my gray hair out so that won't happen. I politely (HA!) [IMG] told him that it was the hair that fell out on its own, NOT the gray ones.
