I need a nap and a shower!!! Baths don't do anything for them sleepwise so I don't do them at night, I just do them whenever there is time in the schedule during bath day. Since it is this way, it is always just me giving the baths. When dh is home, he will play with the non-bather to keep them entertained (Yes I know, but that issue is for another post. LOL) I know I am out of shape but after getting it ready, doing the bathing, dressing, etc for each and then cleaning up, I am exhausted. I just gave baths and I need a nap. I know I can't be the only one that feels like this. Can't wait until they can do it themselves. LOL

DH is the bath guy at our house, so he normally does them. But I did have to give them a bath one night last week and it definitely is tiring!

Mine splash so much after baths I feel like I am always cleaning the bathroom each time!! Our baths are really quick to keep the mess to a minimum! Can't wait until summertime, I'm sure these guys will enjoy the pool at Mema's house!!

 I agree! By the time baths are done, I'm soaked AND ready for bed.

My dh is the bath giver for that reason it just tires me out and I can't stand all the splashing and water getting everywhere and dh doesn't seem to mind as much. As they get older and they can start washing themselves it does get easier.

We do baths every other night and I consider it a good day when I can walk out mostly dry. They splash about enough that I end up with really clean floors after I clean up. It's definitely exhausting and I'm glad I don't have to do it every night!

I don't need to mop my bathroom when the kids are done!

Yup, baths are exhausting. We usually do them after dinner & I'll ask dh, "Dishes or baths?" He almost always picks dishes! But we bathe ours together & then I'll holler at dh when they're ready to get out so he can help. Which is funny b/c now the kids will shout "Mike!" after I do. Guess I have to start calling him Daddy. ;)

Ditto...the bathroom is always soaked as am I, and I am tired too. Glad I don't need to do it everyday!

Naomi, every night after dinner we ask each other the same thing, "Dishes or baths?" DH almost ALWAYS chooses baths, which is fine because it takes him three times as long to do the dishes and then he doesn't even wipe up the counters!

So, since DH does the baths most of the time, I can certainly say that YES, when I do give baths, I am exhausted!!!

LOL! Bea calls Daddy "Mike" all the time too (also my DH's name). It's funny. Our baths normally aren't too chaotic, unless someone is having a meltdown about something.

Ditto here. Just last night my little 2 year old niece decided she wanted to stay over to "help" the boys with their bath. She and I both were soaked afterwards! I took her home with a soaking wet shirt! And, I don't typically get much done after the bath because I'm so tired! You are not alone.

Yes!!!! The bath is great until I have to get them out...then, all heck brakes loose! It is awful - like I am wrestling little lions in my bathroom...They cry, push, basically throw a tantrum every single time...I am definitely doing something wrong.

    I feel your pain!!!

You are definitely not alone! I love bath time in the summer because there are so many less layers to put on after all the work of bathing them!!

Not after bath just at the end of the day. I wish I could get things done once they are in bed but then I am ready for bed or to relax and play in the arcade or browse posts.

Oh! I'm glad to see this post! I thought I was the only one! I really have to gear myself up for bath nights as it is SO exhausting! Especially I do it by myself all of the time! We just had our first bath in the big bathtub (I've been doing it in the kitchen sink - but they don't fit anymore :D ) and it was alot easier as I can do both at the same time now, and they get to play a little more, and clean up seemed a little easier. Getting everything ready seems to take longer now, as I have to have everything IN the bathroom. towel, pj's, lotion, q-tips, diapers, butt cream. But they did get to play with their new elmo bath toys....

Ok, totally off topic, but this is my DH too! What's up with doing dishes but not cleaning the counters?

I guess I'm lucky b/c bathtime is pretty peaceful at our house. DH and I do it together so there's not a lot of wrestling. They can be in the worst mood and you ask if they're ready for a bath and they get so excited and head for the stairs. It's so cute. They splash around in the bath for about 10 minutes, then usually one lets us know they're done, so we pull them both out without a fight. Boy, do I hope this lasts.

Goodness Gracious, Baths are exhausting we do 2 baths a day each day. We just always have. The morning bath is right after breakfast so we can start the day refreshed and rejuvenated and at nap they will sleep comfortably. Plus it gives us a head start for the last minute pop ins (You know the people that didn’t plan on visiting you, or maybe the last minute play groups that want to get together.) Day Time Bath is up to me. DH loves to give the kids their Night Time Bath, Which is right after he comes home and we have family dinner and then it’s off to bed and I get to clean up their rooms and get things ready for bedtime. I once interrupted the routine and did it myself and boy was I told that that’s his time and he really looks forward to it.

LOL....mine don't like it when bath time is over, either. I started sneaking my hand in to let the water out & then act all surprised, like something's wrong with the tub! :p

I really feel for single parents, never thought I'd be one on a part time basis while married. My DH is gone most of the time, sometimes for 2 to 4 months at a time. When he is home, he'll start the baths but I still lotion them up and put on their PJs. When I'm alone I most nights am too tired to even fix myself any dinner after they're in bed. The whole shabang....dinner, cleanup, baths and bed is super taxing! Thank goodness for tile floors in the bathroom. Someone was thinking!
