    Hi,
I find myself going in their room during nap and at night and putting my hand on them to make sure they're breathing. Sometimes I'll stroke their cheek or arm and then they'll squirm :good:

I don't know why I do this (maybe SIDS?).

    Anyone else???

I kept them in our room until they were 8 months old for that very reason. I rarely check on them now but sometimes I get a compulsion and will check on them.

I did this obsessively with my first but not so much with the boys as I fear it might wake them up...

Totally!!! especially because mine are good sleepers and my older ds wasn’t... they were sttn at 8-10 w and i was sure something bad had happened to both of them… I couldn’t be THAT lucky... now i just do it at nap time... and usually only when nap time goes longer than normal...

All the time :) I was getting better, then they started rolling to their tummy which made me paranoid! So I check that they are breathing and sometimes move their heads so their noses are more exposed!

I used to do the same thing. I dont touch them anymore unless I cant hear them breathing at night in the dark. I still check on them everynight before I go to bed. :D

I still do it every night before I go to bed! It has become a habit that I cant break- it would not feel right to me now to go to bed without putting my hand on their back!

I still do this every night with my 4-year-old DS and now I also do this with my baby boys. Like another PP wrote, it's become part of my routine before going to bed. I can't go to bed without checking on my 3 boys! :)

Oh, just about every five minutes during naps,
all throughout the night, whenever! :D

We have one of their cribs in our room at the end of our bed. We switched our pillows to the footboard so that I can easily check on them throughout the night. My husband thought I was crazy, but I've caught him hunched over the swing staring at them until he sees movement ;)
I might be a little extra worried because of their reflux.

With the twins I did all of the time, especially at first b/c Morgan was on an apnea monitor. With Olivia, I STILL check her. She recently started belly sleeping (she rolls over herslef), so I find myself always checking, especially in the morning. She's in bed by 8 pm, gets a dream feed at 11 pm and doesn't get up for the day sometimes until 9-9:30 am. I'm always paranoid (but happy) that she is sleeping that long!

Especially now that they are sleeping 5-6 hr stretches at night.

Personally, I don't check them. I'm just glad they're sleeping. DH does check several times through the night. He's kind of nuts about that stuff. I remember one time when DS was about 6 months old. DH went to check him & couldn't feel him breathing. Of course, he flipped out, turned on the light & screamed at Tristan to wake up. He did wake up & cried forever because he was so scared. I worried about SIDS with DS, but I guess I just don't worry as much with the twins. I think because it's my second time around. I'm not really sure.......

I am definitely in the minority - I barely checked the twins, and they are my first. When they were sleeping I was so glad, that I myself was trying to sleep! That being said before I go to bed I now check on them. But in the beginning I needed sleep and I wasn't worried about sids.

We have Angel Care monitors for SIDS (alarm goes off if no movement in the cot) and I still check them...

All the time--mine both sleep on their tummies now (they start on their backs); so I check on them frequently. Plus they're so sweet when they're sleeping :).

I did this the first couple nights that they slept all night. I'd wake up at like 4am and wonder why they didn't wake up earlier, so I'd go in and poke them a little.

Mine are still sleeping in my room (not by choice) and I still check them sometimes. DD snores really loud a lot of the time so when I don’t her snoring I worry and DS is so quite I stop and listen for movement form him a lot of the time.
With my first DS I was obsessed with checking his temperature for the first several months of his life. I was constantly sticking thermometer on him or asking DH if he felt hot. I can look back now and laugh but at the time it….

I very rarely did it during nap but I did it all the time at night. I never went to bed without checking on them first and the same went for Dax.

Yup, same here! My oldest is almost 4 and I still do the "is she breathing?" check. Usually for her, I just turn on a hall light, and I can see her breathing without entering her bedroom. But, the boys, well, I still lay a light hand on their bellies to make sure they are breathing. I often touch the back of my hand to their foreheads, too, to make sure there's no fever. A tad much, I know...
