    Hello Everyone,
My name is Lauren and I am a special Ed teacher from NJ. I am due Jan 7th..but doc said I wouldn't go past 38 weeks. I am only 21 weeks and 2 days now! But feeling great so far. We just found out that we are having a Boy & Girl! Yah! Very excited..and still working on my registry and looking for carseats and baby strollers..(grr).

Anyone know how long I should work..if I work with Autistic (involved) students? I wonder how long the doc will keep me at work? Anyone have any similar experiences with disability times / job related?

I hope I don't have to go on bedrest...but I pray for all of you that are on it now. I just want (like we ALL do) 2 healthy children, not born too early, but not too late either, a good nights sleep (started that non-sense already) and a normal delivery..if there is such a thing with twins. :yahoo:

Started to go back to Accupuncture for my new siatic pain (in the butt/hip/legs)..lol Hey..does anyone know if the electric stimulation is safe for the babies? When I am there..they are bubbling away in my belly.

I haven't felt any specific kicks ...just lots of gassy feeling bubbles! But either way..it feels good to know they are there!

If anyone is due around the end of DEC or early JAN, I would love to share my experiences with people around the same week as myself to see if all I am feeling is ok or the same as others.

    This site is great!
    Lauren

Oh..ps...How do I get one of those cute timelines when the babies are due on my profile?

    Hi Lauren,

Good to know that u r due on Jan 10th. Am due on Jan 8th. But as all twin moms, am supposed to expect them early:(

I too am carrying boy/girl twin.,both r doing great, i feel their flutters:)

I was working before, but severe nausea & low Blood pressure(during first trimester) made me stop working:( Now am working from home on a part time project:)

Baby girl weighs 3 oz less than the boy, so they Doc want to closely monitor their growth, gonna see doc again in 15 days. Hoping everything goes fine.

All the best for all the pregs out there...

    Hi Ladies,
I am due 1/2/10 with ID twin boys! I doubt these will be 2010 babies, though. I am 22w1d and things are going well so far. I worry every day about all of the risks, especially risks for ID twins like TTTS, but like I said, so far so good. I feel the babies now, but not a whole lot. I wish it was more because it gives me peace of mind. My back is definitely hurting me these days and I have a few other odd aches and pains, but nothing significant. I agree that sleeping is a challenge. Should be interesting by the end!!! I see a high risk specialist every 2 weeks plus my OB. Since I've seen so many different doctors I've heard recommendations to come off of work anywhere from 20 to 28 weeks. I'm still working FT as of now. I may start working from home more at 24 weeks. It is nice that I have that option. My specialist agrees that we'll take the "we'll see" approach as far as when to go on disability. This coming Thursday I have a growth and cervix check. Hoping all is well and that I carry these babies til at least 34 weeks.

    Hi SC & My3,

I don't know why I wrote the 10th in the title..I can't figure out how to change it...but I am due the 7th of Jan! My doctor said she would not let me go far past x-mas eve, which is my 38th week...so if I don't go before that..I am going to schedule my
C-section date for the day after Christmas or 2 days after..but it must be in Dec...because I need the double tax break...ha ha!
But really, it will help me stay home an extra month! lol

I am still not sure how long I am going to work either...but is there any reason I should be seeing a high risk doc. Sometimes I question the validity of "all the docs" in my practice..and wish I could only just see my fav doc! But I am sure they all know what they are doing..with different bed side manners of course! lol

As I type right now..my husband lie in bed snoring and I couldn't sleep so I got up and went on the computer!

I have been enjoying my massages at accupuncture..but it's only twice a week..if I could "squeeze" one out of my hubby...I am sure my back would feel better..but no such luck lately! lol

    Have a good day girls!

    Hi Ladies!

My official due date is January 1st 2010, but as we all know, it will probably be sooner than that! I am currently almost 23 weeks PG with B/G twins, and have recently been put on bedrest as my 22 week U/S showed a drop in my cervical length. I am being followed by a high risk OB now (thank good ness!). Trying to keep busy and not worry.....can be sooo hard.....

As for kicks, I started feeling them at 15.5 weeks (intermittently), then they started pretty much after week 18 (when they were lying transverse). Now one is head down and the other is breech, so I don't feel the kicks as much.

Workwise, I was pulled off last week. I had planned to work only until my 22nd week anyways (I work 12 hour shifts with lots of standing), so my OB suggested being off of work.

Just trying to not worry, and take each day as it comes!

    Cheers,

    TwinletMommy

I'm another 2010 mom, due Jan. 5 with boy/girl twins. So far, I'm feeling OK, but I'm worrying about all the risks too and the high probability of a C-section... But so far, so good!

Hi Twinlet..Slipper..and Kelie! Oh..Twinlet..I hope you are ok..and enjoying your bedrest as much as possible! I know your back must hurt by laying down all the time right?

Kelie.I hear you loud and clear..OMG..I hope I don't have to go out too early! I just feel like things have gone too smoothly so far..and hope it continues.

I did start to retain water in my feet..and am getting worried about that being that I have to go back to work (as a special ed teacher) on Sept 8th..Tuesday..oh boy!

Slipper...thanks for the codes..I will play with it tomorrow!

    Talk to you all soon!

    Hey Ladies :)

Slipper- thanks for the code info! When on bedrest each day counts and it's nice to see the ticker move forward everyday!

Sweet- One more week left until work. How have you been feeling?

Big hello to the rest of you ladies. I am starting to develop a little routine being on bedrest, and so far it is OK.

    TTYS,

    TM :)

    Kellie,

I was terrified of a C/S before, but am now finding that I will just go with the flow of what happens. Doesn't mean I am still not worried about the pain!

    LOLOL

    Hey Girls,

I am feeling good so far..thanks for asking! My feet have been getting "a little" more swollen than normal..but not terrible yet. Any suggestions on how to stay away from too much salt? lol

Slipper..glad you are getting used to bedrest! Is it complete..or can you get up to go to the bathroom? I hope so! lol

I tried to get the ticker..hope it works! We will see soon enough!

Twinlet...I am not even thinking about the C/S yet...my mom keeps trying to push me out of it..but i think it's the safest way for them to be delivered..without having any other expectations that could fall through without warning..I see it on tv all the time with singleton babies.

Hope you are all feeling great! I have my next Dr. Apt on Friday...for my cervical length check..wish me luck!

What did you do to get it to work? Whenever I tried, I just got the html code to display? I saw that is what yours did yesterday but today it works fine?

    Hey how u guys doing?
these tickers r really cute :)

  16. Hi ladies! It is fun to see so many momma's due around the same time.

I am Kate. I am currently 21 weeks pregnant with what we think is two boys (as seen at 16 weeks). I have my "big" ultrasound tomorrow morning to check for all of the anatomy and such...and to confirm genders. Thus far things are going great! I teach Kindergarten and have a 2 year old daughter and am utterly exhausted by the end of each day, so I am praying that my body is doing well and that I won't end up on bedrest anytime soon.

I am thrilled to have found this place to share with other ladies who are going through the same things!

Hello Ladies, my 40 week due date is January 29 however, doctor is saying early January. I am currently 19.3 days along and we just found out we are having twin girls. I am a mom of 3 already. My oldest daughter has just started 1st grade and just turned 6. My 3.5 year old daughter just started preschool two days a week and my 2 year old son just hangs out with me and we do mommy and me playdates. Yes....these two little blessings will make 4 girls and 1 boy. I am so excited and so far feeling pretty good. Minus the aches and pains towards the evening time if I skip my rest in mid-afternoon. I am just now starting to get heartburn at night and not sleeping very well at all. I see a high risk doctor (fetal imaging center) once a month and my regular OB once a month as of right now. So, about every two weeks I get a peek at the girls and it continues to amaze me everytime. I have no fear of caring for my kids once they arrive. My biggest fear is getting them here safely and uneventful as not to miss out in the parenting of my other three children. Bed Rest is a huge fear. So, as of now I just take it one day at a time and know that each day brings me closer to meeting my little ones. Congrats to all on the twins and have a happy and healthy pregnany.

    Hey girls!

I too am due in early Jan. (Jan 4, 2010) but won't be allowed to carry past Dec 21. Merry Christmas to me! :)

We are expecting frat. girls. I am 27 weeks and still work full time. But it is getting HARD. I work with all guys so there is NO sympathy at all there. Even my hubs expects me to be wonder woman.

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Welcome Jennaenglish. I laughed when you said "even my husband expects me to be wonder woman". Men just don't understand. This is my fourth pregnancy and my husband use to say "women did this all the time and how do you think they survived". It just brings back memories of how angry and hurt I use to get. Well, I have put a stop to that. I now make my husband go to all my specialist doctor appointments and i ask the doctor questions such as what can and can I not do and how will this type of housework effect my body and pregnancy. My husband is finally understanding that I am not able to carry all the heavy groceries in or vaccume and mop all the hardwood floors in the house. My cervix shortened last week (now 24 weeks along)from a 3.5 to a 2.9 and it has concerned the doctor. So I am now being closy monitored and watched and told that I can not shop, housework or stand on my feet for long periods of time. They checked me again a week later and it had stayed the same, so I am hopeing that it doesn't change. If it shortened again, they are putting me on bedrest and probally in the hospital because they don't think I can be on bedrest at home with 3 little children to take care of. My husband is the sole provider in our family and he now realizes how serious it is and how I must really take it easy. I feel great so I don't even understand what happened to have my cervix shorten. It just goes to show you that we really must take it easy even when we think we are feeling at our best. So, take it easy and don't overdo it at work.
    Again, welcome.

    Goose
