Anybody put bumbos in the tub?

I was just reading the thread on the bathseats... I was just wondering if bumbos could be used in the tub. It seems like I remember seeing that somewhere but can't remember. They appear to be pretty waterproof and I already have 2 of them. I know they don't attach to the side but has anybody done this before? Maybe with a mat to keep them from slipping. One of our girls is still not entirely sitting up on her own (she falls a lot) so we can't put her in the big tub. Lol, I'll probably end up buying the bath seats, as if I need any more "stuff"

Eh... that wouldn't be good. After I posted that the more I thought about it the less it seemed like a good idea... They pretty much fill up the seat and it would be hard to bathe their lower half, lol...

No, no, no, and more no! My good friend did this (with just one baby) and her son flipped the bumbo backwards and cracked his head on the tub resulting in a trip to the emergency room. Bumbos are really unstable in the tub because the water gets under them and sort of float and tip.

Yikes! Thanks for the reply, I have to admit I'm pretty paranoid about anything so I probably would have stuck it in the tub empty first, but thanks for the heads up. :)

Ok, we are probably in the minority, but we did use ours in the bathtub - but having said that, we did always hold onto it because it doesn't sit nicely on the floor of the tub (it does float a bit). And, there were always two of us bathing the babies, so one person held one bumbo, the other held the other one. We did find it useful that way for about a month, but once they turned about 7 months they started to try and figure out how to get out of the bumbos and we then stopped using them all together.

Yeah, I tried it and hated it. The water got underneath them (and I only had a teeny, tiny amount of water) and it made the seats wobbly. Needless to say, I tried it once and moved on back to the baby tub until I was confident in their sitting.

I used a transitional tub in the big tub until I was sure they could sit up well enough on their own to go in the big tub.

I tried it once, very bad idea. it immediately floated up off the floor and was not stable.
We used a regular laundry basket up until they were almost 9 months old. It created a smaller space and the sides helped aid in sitting up. Have you tried a laundry basket?

I had this SAME thought months ago...I'm glad I didn't try it after reading these responses.

i was going to do this! we dont have a bath, only a shower and at the moment we use those lying down baby seats. but they are just beginning to outgrow and i thought we could use the bumbo's till they learnt to sit. oh well. ill have to think of something else..
