Anybody miss their 12 month appt.

So we missed the girls' 12 month dr's appt. There has been just so much going on here, that I've had to cancel two appointments already. I have one for next week, and I can't tell you how embarrassed I am. I'm not worried so much about their shots being a little late (so much talk about how bad these 12 month ones are creeps me out). But just that I know they've grown so much and the doc will probably have to ask even more questions. I don't know....I just feel a little, I guess, irresponsible? I don't know how to describe it really.

I've been so lucky with their health, knock wood. So there hasn't been a reason to seek out the doc, but I just feel like if something were to come up healthwise, someone would say, "if you had just taken them when they were supposed to go....."

    Anyone else slip up?

:hug99: don't feel bad about it, life happens. :hug99: I didn't take my two to their 12 month appointment until they were almost 15 months old! At first I had to do it at 13 months due to our vacation...then I forgot to make one, and by the time I did...well, they were 15 months old.

My ped is an hours drive and expensive. I missed mine because I was too busy too. I did it at 15 months. No big deal.

We went to their 15 month appt at 17 months (just a few weeks ago). Oh well. I don't think it's a huge deal...mainly keeping up with their shots.

I think I get most embarassed when someone asks me "so how much did they weigh at their one-year appt." and I just stare blankly at them stuttering, "uh, well, ummmm." You know how judgmental people can be. One time, to a stranger, I actually made up a number. Terrible.....

Don't worry about it! It happens all the time. I just took my seven year old in last week Friday for her seven year checkup, even though she turned seven this past November. And while I was there, they informed me she hadn't been there for a well child checkup since she was five!!! I felt like a horrible mommy too. But they didn't think it was a big deal at all. It happens to all of us at one time or another!!!

I was three months off on mine. And as a result, every year since we have been three months off, since our insurance only pays for it in 12 mos intervals.
