anybody else going to have a shower & register?

At first, I wasn't planning on it. But my sisters begged me to....and as dh pointed out, we kinda thought we were done & gave all our baby stuff away. Although my dd is Oct 5, it looks like the shower will prob be in July. One of my sisters is coming out to visit for 6 weeks this summer & I haven't seen her in 6 years. So we kinda thought it'd be nice to have it while she's out.

I really wanted to have more of a coed BBQ rather than traditional shower. But dh is set on having his own "guy's day". Since I really like to plan in advance, any ideas of what to do as alternatives to the traditional stuff? Also, how do you word something in the invitation to let people know you're fine with used items? I still might register (hey, it's fun) and we really did get rid of everything. I have a few boxes of clothes, but they'll be the wrong season. thanks!

 

Wasnt planning on doing anything other than maybe brunch with some friends and sending out a mass email for summer/fall boy clothes. Most of my friends have kept the 2nd go around pretty low key.

 

I don't think I'm going to have one. I hadn't really thought about it. I kept everything from the twins, I knew I wanted a third baby. I guess if this one is a boy I could use clothes, but that's about it.

 

I am having one. My mom and SIL are very excited and wanted to host one. I am of the thought that every child is meant to be celebrated and its about getting together and not necessarily about the gifts. My twins are going to be 5 1/2 when our little guy is born and I have loaned out many items and some I got back and some I didn't. While we have saved most of the big items there are a few things we need and then of course the essentials need to be replenished since it has been so long. I do plan on registering just to make it easier, but the registry will not be as detailed or as long as the first go-round with the twins!
