During my pregnancy i gained 70 pounds....Before i was pregnant i was 5'10" and weighed 125 pounds....I had my twins three weeks ago and so far have lost 50 pounds....which is great...BUT i still have a belly and look pregnant...Its so embarassing that EVERYWHERE i go people ask me how many months pregnant i am....I mean when I was 3-4 months pregnant no one said anything to me, and now that im not everyone asks....its kind of depressing...None of my clothes fit....still wearing maternity clothes, which i guess is why people are still asking how pregnant i am....Does anyone have any miracle products or type of clothing you wear that hides the left over bump that you have to loose??

I wore my maternity shorts forever. For me, I had no motivation to do anything. I was so exhausted all the time. It took me until the boys were a year to find the time to drop the weight.

    But I love my SPANX

I've always worn sort of loose clothing, so even though I STILL have a bump :umm: , no one can really see it unless I'm wearing a swimsuit or something.

People often recommend those empire-waist tops for this situation, but personally I think they make even non-pregnant people look pregnant. I think the best thing is just a regular, non-clingy shirt that comes down to the hips.

It also helps to have two babies with you. ;)

I always had the kids with me. I wore maternity pants for about 3 months. Then it was winter and I got to wear my big sweaters in NC while visiting my family.

Depending on how nasty you want to be, you could tell people you have a horrible illness...

As much as you probably don't want to, you need to buy clothes in a bigger size. Pregnancy pants are, I think, designed to make your bump look bigger (look at me, I'm pregnant). A nice pair of jeans or slacks, (especially the ones with "tummy control"), will make you look slimmer. Maybe go to the thrift shops.

When I was 9-10 weeks pregnant, I had an obvious bump in pregnancy clothes, but I have a great pair of jeans that flattened everything out.

6 months after I had my girls strangers still thought I was pregnant. It just took a whole lot of hard work. Dieting (I did weight watchers) and exercising (I joined a gym.) There was nothing easy about it, and it took a long time.

You said you just had your babies 3 weeks ago, right? Not months, right? Give your body time to heal! Very, very, very few people lose the flabby, enlarged belly quickly. Yes, some get back to normal weight really fast, but the belly remains enlarged for some time after birth. Unless of course you were in super shape prior to being pregnant and you have the time to resue your workout immediately after birth. However, most Dr.'s don't even recommend hard abdominal work until after your 6 week appointment. After my twins, my uterus was still slightly enlarged at my 6 week appointment, so it wasn't all fat, it was physically impossible to see a flat tummy with an enlarged uterus! Of course, I still have a belly 3 years later-but that's my own fault, i.e. combine seperated abs and no desire to work out! I gained 70+ with my singleton pregnancy and lost it all within a month, but I was thicker in the middle than before being pregnant. I only gained 45 with my twin pregnancy, lost the weight in 2 weeks and still have a pregnant-looking belly! I suck it in, wear Spanks with tighter-fitting clothing and hope some day I find the motivation and the time to work out in sopme way.

Remember that most bodies change after pregnancy. Clothing fits differently and you may carry weight in new places. Also it takes 9 months to get that big baby belly, it may take that long for all of it to shrink back down to your normal. I think we are too hard on ourselves and our bodies because we comare ourselves to celebrities that spend 5 hours a day working out and have chef's cooking every meal for them. I was happy to see a picture of Rebecca Romain the other day and SHE still has a twin belly like a normal person. She looks great! Don't be so hard on yourself, you are doing a great job.

I second the spanx recommendation and I would also say give your body time to heal. I was still wearing my maternity clothes a month after delivery ( I think I stopped wearing them 3-4 months later).

    I'd suggest a t-shirt that says "I just had twins". :p

It's been over a year since my boys were born; I was underweight pre-pregnancy, and I weigh about 10 lbs. more than that now so I'm at a healthy weight. I'm just now getting a flatter belly, but it's still not flat! Maybe it would be better if I had time to exercise, but I really think it just takes a LONG time for the swelling and "extra stuff" to go down. I tried on a bikini the other day, and as long as I suck it in and stand up straight with my arms in the air, I think I can get away with it! ;)
