So here I am at my worst allergy time of year and three months pregnant so I can't take anything for it.....it's awful! And I still have to go to work, like I didn't feel poopy enough already for the last few weeks. Anyone have suggestions on ways to beat the allergies or colds that don't involve heavy medication? I've used saline on my nose, and that helps for about 10 minutes, but everything else is still miserable. :(

I had a really bad cold at about 10 weeks but couldn't do anything for it except rest. I took a week off of work and just slept. The only thing I HAD to do was a nebulizer treatment because I couldn't breathe because my colds always turn into asthma. As far as allergies, my doctor told me that I could take Benadryl, so I would check with your doctor. Since I don't like feeling knocked out, I bought children's liquid Benadryl and I only take one teaspoon instead of 4. That way I can take the edge off my allergies without getting drowsy.

Yuck, I'm sorry, I've been sick so many times since I've been pregnant and it's so much harder than usual. Rest is probably the best medicine, otherwise be sure to drink tons of fluids so you don't wind up with a sinus infection. I occasionally took a tylenol when I was achy all over, and I used the netty pot to clear out my nose, but I know these things don't really make you feel a ton better.
    HUGS to you.

If it is allergies, you CAN take Claritin or Benadryl while pregnant. Not much to do for a cold but fluids and rest....

I had sinus issues with my last pregnancy so I lived on Sudafed to help me breathe. Get as much rest as you can. I know it is rough. You can't take much. :hug99:

I have had a ton of sinus issues with this pregnancy- as well as allergies. Unfortunatly- I can not survive without the drugs. I am getting allergy shots, taking claritin, rhinocort and singulair, and have been on SEVERAL antibiotics- all of which I am told is safe- my list from the doc also says I can take sudafed sinus, or tylenol cold and sinus- I am sure your doc would let you take some of these.
