    Hi,
    Please can someone HELP ME!!!
For the past three mornings DS has decided to start waking up between 4:30-5:00 and playing in his crib(laughing, talking, jumping around) until he finally wakes his sister. Then they play around for a bit in their cribs and then go back to sleep around 6:00.
He's not poopy because he will cry.
Does anyone know why this would start happening all of the sudden? He use to sleep until 6:30-7:00.
One thing is that we just finished up our last can of formula and have started gving them whole mik at night.....maybe he's getting hungry??
Any suggestions would be sooo helpful.

    THanks!

We've noticed our boys go thru cycles - we are currently in a wake-at-5:45-then-back-to-sleep-til-7 cycle, but it changes. Can't see any rhyme or reason to it - we just go with it. At least yours wake happy - ours do NOT.

Like the pp said, we chalk up most things to phases, and don't fret over them too much unless they keep it up for more than acouple of weeks. Could be that they need a bit later bedtime at this age? That worked for us for awhile, and then we were right back where we started. For all of September my kids slept until around 7 am almost everydy, which is unheard of, my DH actually had to set his alarm clock! And now for the past two weeks, they're both up at 6:15 if we're lucky!

I agree that it is most likely a phase, not that that really explains why! Personally I always wake up around 4:30 myself -- babies do this too, but they don't know that you're supposed to be quiet if you're awake at that hour! As long as he is relatively happy and they do both go back to sleep, I think your best approach is just to wait it out. Any intervention, and you risk turning it into a habit because he wants to see you at 4:30 a.m.

One of my DDs also woke very early at that age (actually from about 9-14 months). She often had to take a short nap at 6:30 or 7 so she could make it through the morning at daycare. She finally started sleeping later (by which I mean at least 6:00, sometimes 6:30 if we were lucky) around 14 months, and that stayed pretty constant until after they turned 2.

    Thanks for the replies!
Hopefully it's a phase that will pass!! At least he's happy & not crying..LOL that way I can just listen to the monitor and not have to go check on him!!

    Thanks Again & Take Care!

Our little guys started doing this too and we thought maybe they were getting hungry... now we give them a little bedtime snack with their bottle (like toast or cereal bar) with their milk and they are back to 7am wake up... Good luck!
