Just yesterday I went in for my ob appointment at 22 weeks and also just started coming down with an aweful cold/flu. It has only been getting worse. My doctor said that I can take Robutussin and sudafed and of course tylenol. Well for one Sudafed is a nasal decongestant. . . I dont have a stuffy nose, for two Robutussin is a cough suppressant. . . I really dont have a cough.

The only symptoms I have are a fever that will not go away it does go down with tylenol but it will not completely disapppear. unbelievable body aches and the worse case of runny nose and sneezing I have ever had.

I am getting desparate and I dont want to harm my babies by taking anything besides tylenol right now. But I am starting to fear dehydration and possibly make my self go into PTL

Now My doctors nurse said I can take Tylenol Sinus which they have about a million formulations of Tylenol Sinus and she also said Benadryl.

But the only thing is I used to work for a pharmaceutical company that handles Triaminic. I know that most of the infant medications did not contain any sort of Antihistamine like Benadryl does because of the simple fact that it can cause serious problems and it makes them extremely hyper

So does anyone have any non medicated remedies I am desparate

I am sorry you are not feeling well. What I use is a Vicks personal steam inhaler ( no medication) Breathing it in does really help and it has a mask so instead of steaming the room you are getting it directly. you can add menthol to it if you want...

I also use Ayr Nasal Sinus Rinse twice a day. It makes me more comfortable.

    I hope you feel better!!

When I had a cold the Dr. said I could take Robitussin or Robitussin DM with Guafenisone (I think I spelled that right). One of these is not a cough suppressant, I don't remember which one. He also said Sudafed and Tylenol. You might want to try a humidifier, warm bath which will help the aches and peppermint tea with lemon. Are you sure it is a cold and not allergies. If it is allergies the Sudafed will help and nasal saline will help with cleaning out your nose. Make sure you drink at least ten glasses of water, this is what my Dr. told me. Hope you feel better.

I've always taken plain Sudafed if it gets bad enough.

I got sick at about 34 weeks and bought the Tylenol multi symptom day and night pack.. I thought it did great.. I also bought the Tylenol night liquid that doesn't contain alcohol and it was nice, put me right to sleep!

I had a cold a few weeks ago and they suggested Tylenol or Sudafed. The Tylenol cold day and night did not work for me at all. It just seemed like my cold was getting worse. I called back and asked for an antibiotic. He put me on a Z-pac - you take 2 the first day and then 1 each day for days after. It was wonderful! That's just what I needed. Worked right away and I instantly felt better. Still feeling good. I'd call your doctor and ask about an antibiotic - we shouldn't feel miserable with all we have going on! I hope you feel better!!
