I have been thinking that i want to do do some of the baby signing with the girls. Nothing too indepth but try to teach them things like "all done" and "drink" stuff like that..

Is there any Dvd's that you can recommend or even a book even tho it would be more difficult to read something right now. I kinda found google to kinda be all over the place and not much help.

    TIA!

I love the Signing Time and/or Baby Signing Time series. thankfully our library has the series. I tried the Baby Einstein one once, and didn't like it. But really do like Rachael on Signing Time (her daughter was found out to be deaf at a year or something)... anyway, she does a great job, and has fun snappy songs to go with the signing.

ITA with this! :acute: DH borrowed the first two Baby Signing Time videos from a coworker and the boys  them. They even sign "baby" and "sign" all the time, asking to watch the videos. We only let them watch 1 or 2 times a week, but we use the signs every day, and it's really helpful because a lot of their verbal words sound the same to me, so the signs help clarify what they're saying.

The videos (of course) don't have every sign that you might want to use, so I also found this WEBSITE that has a dictionary of baby signs (all based on ASL) with short video clips of a woman actually doing the signs.

Hopefully you can find somewhere to lend the Baby Signing Time videos to you; they're highly recommended but wicked expensive! :)

I have used the Baby Signs Program by Linda Acredolo and Susan Goodwyn - this is the original work done on baby signs - their book and videos are great. We bought a package that included the book, baby cardboard books, a small flip through magnetic reference for the fridge and 2 DVDs - one for kids and one for parents. My 4 yr old still enjoys the kids video. My 16 mo old twin boys are doing great with "all done", "more", eat, drink, diaper dirty, book, cat, dog, etc.... We love baby signs! It makes parenting at this age soooo much easier. Happy to send you a copy of the DVD if it will let me make a copy. [IMG]

We LOVE Baby signing time in our house - my girls aren't really into TV (I guess that's good, though some days it would be nice to have a guaranteed 1/2 hour distraction!), but they love BST - they start dancing when it comes on!

They've picked up: milk, all done, more, water, banana, cracker, cereal, horse, dog, eat, drink, and brush teeth.

I need to start picking up some of the signing time videos, that have the real Alex and Leah! :)
