I know that's not really a word but it sounded good. Anyways, Brett (my 3.5 year old) is TOTALLY into Spiderman. He knows Spiderman movies 1 & 2 by heart! He thinks he IS Spiderman. Cute Story - I went to run errands this morning with all the kids and I had to go to the Town Hall to pay our excise taxes and trash bill. I had to take the twins in the carage and therefore had to come in through the basement floor and up in the elevator. Well, anyways the basement LOOKS like a basement and the brick walls are painted gray! He looked down one of the long hallways and my 3 year old yells out..."MOM, It LOOKS like we are in the Spiderman Movie!" It was so cute! Back to what I wanted to say...If you have any kids that LOVE Spiderman..the new movie Spiderman 3 is coming out in May but even better, they have all the "NEW" action figures in Walmart for $6 each. I am going to fill his Easter basket with those instead of candy!
My 4 year old son lives & breathes for Spiderman. My DH & my brother-in-law were big comic books fans, so they really don't help! He hasn't even seen the movies, but he wants everything Spiderman (undies, tshirts, boots, etc etc). Our babysitter has been teaching him some stories from the bible, and last week he told me..."if Spiderman & Moses decided to battle, Moses would probably win" I laughed SO hard!!
Mine are Batman and Robin obsessed. They have seen parts of the Spiderman movie and really like that too, however thier first obsession was Batman and Robin and they are remaining loyal to thier first heros. Spiderman is a close second though and Superman comes in third. The boys are learning to recognize thier names in preschool and the teacher has their names in circles on the floor. Matthew told her, that's not my name.......my name starts with an R, I'm Robin! My boys also seem to truely believe at times they are Batman and Robin. They still wear thier halloween costumes almost every day at some point even though they are now falling apart. It's so funny that they do this, I remember when they were just turning 2 they thought they were Bob the Builder and Joe the Mechanic from the little people. It took me the longest time to figure out why one said he was Bob and one said he was Joe. Then that Christmas they were Santa and Rudolf.
visiting from the 1st year board but had to jump in....my DH loves spiderman...gets all the comic books, movies, we have itsy bitsy spiderman and other spiderman figures...and DS is 6 months old!! He doesn't have a chance..lol!
Keegan is the same way. We always joke that Colby likes Batman, but Keegan thinks he is Spiderman. A few months ago I had put them in the tub and went to grab towels (the closet is right outside the door) - and I hear this crash and splash. I of course go running, imagining someone with a head cut open, to find Keegan swinging from the toilet into the bathtub. He had attached my fishing reel to the shower rod and was using that as his "web"!
My oldest became a Spiderman freak at age 3-4. He still hasn't seen the movies, but for some reason he wanted Spiderman action figures, stuffed toys, comic books, costumes, etc. He had the web maker that shot Silly String from a tube attached to his wrist, too. He used to constantly put his arm out and cock his wrist back like he was spraying webs -- often while we were walking through a store or the mall. I remember once at the mall, he pretended to spray some people walking toward us, and DH said, "Jackson, you don't web people you don't know!" We both still laugh about how ridiculous that sounded!
