Well i'm not on bedrest yet... i'm only 7 weeks... but i am pregnant as a single mother by choice from donor sperm, and have been thinking a lot about what will happen if i get put on bedrest at some point. i live alone and only have my own income to rely on, just wondering if there are any other single moms out there expecting twins? i have a great supportive family who will do everything they can to help me out. my lease at my current apartment will be up when i'm about 20 weeks, and i'm strongly considering moving in with family for a while.

also- i'm seeing all of this stuff about premature dilatation and was wondering how many of you have had previous vaginal deliveries? i know that this can put you at risk for premature labor with twins, and i'm just trying to get an idea of what might happen. i have had a previous vaginal delivery of my 30 week stillborn son, but never had any problems with early labor or miscarriages. but oh how things change when there are twins in there! thanks in advance for any info!

I'm not single but I thought I would throw my cents in anyway...
I am 19 weeks and on bed rest since 15 weeks. I have had 2 full term babies before delivered vaginally with no real issues in pregnancy prior to this one. I delivered a 9lb 4 oz baby and a 8lb 6 oz baby. This regnancy I am on bed rest due to Bbay A's placenta crossing my cervix and causing bleeding.
Regarding what you would do if placed on bed rest I would check what the laws are in your state. Where I live I am eligible for up to 6 months state disability ( 2/3 's pay). I know each state is different so you may want to talk with your HR department about what you are entitled to to help you make the best well informed decision re: what to do when your lease is up.
I wish you the best of luck!!

I second Lisa. Best to vet out all your options now because you never know where a twin pg will take you. If you get along with your family that might not be a bad option because once your children are born you will probably need some sort of support.

I had no previous vaginal births and went into PTL, but there are plenty of moms on this site who make it all the way. It really just depends, and I don't think there is any sure fire way of knowing or predicting it. Good Luck!

Congrats! I had 2 vag-del before the twins and I had the twins vaginally as well. Yes I did dialate sooner and was put in the hospital @ 31 weeks for ptl that was stopped and evenutally had to be induced to get them out. And I wouldn't worry so much on the what ifs, I would just enjoy the pregnancy! It goes by so fast.
