My poor skin from my ribs down to my hips hurts! It feels like I have been doing situps all weekend- but actually I didn't do hardly anything at all! Is it possible my skin is just stretching so much, it is hurting???

Could it be your muscles, as well as your skin, stretching that hurts? When my skin was starting to feel tight I began using BioOil. It made a big difference in relieving that. You can get it at Walgreen's, CVS or RiteAid if you're interested.

I don't know what it is, ha ha ha, but I will look into anything that might help!!! It feels like it is probably a skin muscle combo- kind of tender to the touch.

Have you tried holding your belly in your hands, practically holding the babies in your hands? And does that give any relief?

The sore muscle feelings, I've been having that since 16 weeks, well, what sounds like that. I got relief if I held my belly up, literally holding the babies in my hands. So my mom invested in some pregnancy support brace stuff and it helps a lot. I think it was how the babies were laying, using my abs/oblique and back muscles like a hammock and the best way for me to handle it was to lay down on my side with a pillow under my belly for extra support. The brace works wonders because I can go for walks now without feeling like I had to hold the babies in my hands for relief. But they have changed positions several times and right now they are in a good place for me to not have to use the brace.

Right now the babies are starting to chunk up for us, so their weigh gain will be more and more each week, I'd invest in a support thing for when you are up and doing stuff.

I have just the belt that I got for my hips and back because they were hurting- but you know, now that you mention maybe it is them laying on me funny- could be, because my hips and back haven't felt bad, ha ha ha- thank you for the suggestion! I know it is only going to get better (and by that of course I mean worse :p )

I swear, sometimes it felt like they were holding themselves up by their knees!

My mom got me the Baby Hugger which has three different lower belly support things that actually has a type of harness that goes around your neck and ... it's hard to explain and totally freaked me out when I first tried to put it on. Now it's not so hard. I've only had it for 3 weeks. But I do suffer from tension headaches and neck strain (whiplash accident) so I can't wear it every day.

All my u/s pictures showed them butt to butt, which was like a double hammock of my muscles, but they are laying on top of each other now, so it's not so bad except for baby B is taking up my upper uterus and compresses something that makes my blood pressure drop when I'm laying a certain way, and giving me more back aches.

Oh yes, it's only going to get worse from here and I'm dreading it!! Which is why I'm doing all I can NOW with support(walking, errands, slight housekeeping, driving, etc) because I know I may not be able to do it in a month. Just think about what may happen if I have to go on bed-rest, eeeek!!! But I'm looking forward to holding them in as long as possible and getting some good healthy babies.

    We can do it!!!

For me it's a long stretch of skin over the ribs that starts hurting & burning really bad (esp. if I've been up walking around a lot). I asked my OB, he said it was more or less "just the muscles in my abdomen stretching apart - like a pulled muscle- when the babies were growing." After I sit & rest for a bit it feels better, but he told me there's not really anything that I can put on it (although I did beg for some ben-gay or aspercreme). He said it's basically my body telling to 'sit down'

I have had a sore belly too, I think it might be from trying to use my stomach muscles...like if I'm lying on the couch and then I try to sit up without rolling over.........or one day last week I took a bath and made the mistake of leaning back in the tub and then thought I was going to have to call someone to help me sit back up!

Yeah...they say rest on your left side, but that only makes my left hip/buttox/back more painful!! I wear belly band when walking and lots of pillows when resting. But still feel like I've been hit by a mac truck on my left side!!
