Ok I will TRY to make this short… my dudes just had a cold… maybe that is/was the issue… but they have been really fussy… like tired fussy… or hungry fussy more and more… they started to change their schedule and slept in an hour (which I welcomed w/ open arms) but if I pushed the rest of the schedule back and hour… they got fussy… if I fed them at the normal time… they didn’t eat as much and wouldn’t sleep as much… yesterday I decided to push the schedule back only 30 min.. and they ate the normal amount… but they were fussy… just wanted to be held… I can’t hold both of them ALL day… maybe they need a snack (we just added 4oz "soilds" dinner 2 weeks ago)? Is it just a faze? What is up? You experienced ladies have any insight? Thank you... Elizabeth
I think it's probably just a phase, mine have had several little phases like that. For my girls it lasts anywhere from a day to a week.
Right around 9 months, things got ugly at my house. It was a tough time period for us. It got better tho after like a month and then they got molars.. It's always something! Sounds perfectly normal. You sound like you've got a good handle on things. Sorry I cannot be of more help.
Maybe 4oz isn't enough? Before I get flamed...AGAIN, this does NOT apply to everyone... Just the opinion of MY doctor... Your babies could be totally different! My doctor says to feed my twins 1/2 cup of food each! At first I thought that was a total typo, I even posted that here. Yes, I got hit with the onslaught of "No way", "did you hear her right" (it was in writing so yes...), etc., almost to the point that I felt like I shouldn't have bothered to ask the question here. LOL I called and confirmed. Apparently that is what they actually do recommend at her office. So anyway. My twins actually eat that much, believe it or not. Sometimes more than that even!!! It's crazy the amount of food my twinkies put away! They eat a full 1/2- 3/4 cup of cereal mixed with 2-3oz of breastmilk or formula (mine prefer a thicker texture for some reason) AND a whole container of fruits or vegetables, for a total of approximately 1 cup of food at dinner time! At breakfast we skip the add in food and just do the cereal. I feed them until they no longer show an interest or are less eager. DD will start to spit the food instead of eat it and DS will act indifferent about eating, like "take it or leave it" suits him. I can't say this enough... This works in our house. Yours may be totally different! Your doctor may take a different approach to solids. Best case? It could solve your problem to feed them a little more.
Mine just turned 8 mo and are going through a very fussy stage. They just want to beheld all the time. If they see me hold the other one, they cry. If they see me walk by, they cry. After a minute of not seeing me, they will go back to playing. I think its separation anxiety.
I think it's normal to have some sleep/fussy issues after an illness. Are they completely better? Could it have settled in their ears? Mine have been teething bad the past couple weeks and it has affected sleep and eating much more than their first 2 teeth did. I think they're finally turning the corner with the teeth. It could also be the beginnings of separation anxiety, since this is the right age for it. I remember thinking not too long ago that things just got hard and not so fun again. But it's getting better now.

We all just thought that sounded like a lot of cereal. I am sorry that you felt like you shouldnt have asked. To Elizabeth: I think it sounds like a phase too. It sounds like they are just switching their schedule around a bit and trying to make you figure it out. It is always a guessing game. Hang in there.
Thank you ladies…. I think it is probably ALL of this… they did just cut the bottom two teeth… I too wonder about the ears… I have seen them play w/ their ears… but then again I see them play w/ there splinkey too … and I think it also is separation… as pp said, if I hold one the other sudden cares and will cry… but if I stay away… they play happy… hmmmmm… thank you again… I think I just needed to hear I’m not doing something wrong….
