imstartingto get sick of the einstein..what other movies can i buy now for them that they would enjoy???? any suggestions?
My boys were a bit older before they had any interest in movies/tv and it wasn't for a lack of us trying it - that's for sure!!! Movies were too long, so we watched Playhouse Disney and Noggin. The first shows my boys watched were: Wiggles Dora the Explorer (that was before Go Diego Go) Blue's Clues (I would fall asleep it was so boring, but the boys loved it) The Book of Pooh Now they are 5 and watch all kids of shows - both cartoon and non-cartoon.
Movies didn't hold the girls attention for long until they were at least 2 and 1/2. Our girls didn't really watch anything but Baby Einstein until they were about 18 months, then they started liking: Dora--loved it their favorite by far Little Bear (very cute. I loved it too) Bear in the Big Blue House It was nice because these shows were on different times during the day on Treehouse (Canadian). I would try to find short videos or just go with the shows.
My girls like these shows: Dora Curious George Clifford the big red dog Johnnie and the Sprites(this one is addicting but only on the weekend) Go Diego Go (they love this one) Blue's Clues Backyardagains Wonder Pets Movies we have that the girls like: 101 Dalmations Aristocats Curious George Little Mermaid Signing Time Disc One I just ordered a new Baby E that comes out the middle of the month. It's called "Baby's first Signs" and the girls like "Baby Wordsworth"
Blues Clues is always a fav in this house. But their new favorite is The Upside Down Shown on Noggin...they laugh at it and jump up and dance with it. Its really a great show to get them involved and not just sit there. The Teletubbies is one they like to watch also.
Yeah, my girls still won't sit for a "movie" but they love episodes of: Little Einsteins Backyardigans Dora Wonder Pets And...their number one favorite videos: Muzzy (Spanish edition).
Mine love, love, love Signing Time. So much that I am getting sick of watching it. I put on Finding Nemo the other day more for my amusement than theirs. They did watch it in spots, but are obviously too young to sit and watch the whole thing. They also like Sesame Street, Blues Clues, and the Backyardigans.
Will and Cal just turned 2 and they LOVE LOVE LOVE a PBS show called Caillou. I just wish that I could buy a Caillou doll for them because they would be thrilled. As far as I know they don't sell anything but the videos. Their Mom tapes all the shows for them. I don't mind watching with them because it's a really cute show. Blessings, Sally
At that age they liked to watch Clifford, Maisy, Barney, Play With Me Sesame and Blues Clues and Elmo's World videos. They weren't into movies at that age so much though. I think that Curious George the series on PBS and also the movie might hold their attention. I second that the shows on Noggin are great. Mine are four and still love a lot of them.
My babies love these Baby Genius dvd's, primarily the ones with songs (Favorite Nursery Rhymes, Children's Songs, Children's Sing-a-Longs)we call them crack for babies, they are mezmerized. All they do is dance along. They also like the Wiggles dvds. It's all about the music for mine.
From about 1 year old until almost 2 years, the only movies they really liked were Baby Einstein and Signing Time. Signing Time was definitely their favorite and they always asked for it. The didn't like a lot of the more cartoony shows (Dora, Clifford, Disney, etc.) until closer to 3 years old. They weren't even interested in Sesame Street & Blue's Clues until a little less than a year ago.
