It is time to collect some fun board game to shop for Christmas this year. What are your popular board game recommendation for 2 yrs old and up games that would really fun to play with? I thought of 'Candy Land Castle Game' and/or 'Lucky Ducks'.

*My twins will be 2 on Sept. 30th so around Christmas time they'll be 27 months.

My girls LOVE Cariboo by Cranium. They do a great job with that one. Also, we have the Dora Candyland game, but that hasn't gone over as well. They love the idea of it, but actually playing it correctly is more difficult. I think I'm going to get a memory game as well.

No recommendations but I did Candyland and Chutes and Ladders and they didn't play with them at all. Okay, they tried but it was much more fun to tear the board into pieces and throw the pieces around. We are now going to try again now that they have turned three. Good Luck!

Thanks for the input. I'll save that board game when the kids turn '3' next year. I kind of figure I may have to wait.

I bought my boys Candyland for X-mas to help us work on colors and turn taking. I also have some Discovery Toys games that they love. Our favorite is called Roll-n-Play and they have been playing that since before they were two. The Discovery Toys website is www.discoverytoysinc.com.

How about Puzzles. My children loved puzzles from an early age and now at 5 they rather do a puzzle than watch cartoons!

Memory is a fun game with 2 year olds.. We leave the pictures facing up and they matched them that way, Now that we are moving to 3 we are starting to hide the pictures and match them,

We also have Candyland, and puzzles are alot of fun too

I can't say enough about this game -- it can be played with children of various ages, and it's still fun for everyone. There's no winner, no loser, just loads of fun that gets them thinking and often, up and moving!

    Here's the description:
ROLL & PLAY Activity Game Item #1038

Your toddler’s first game encourages vocabulary and social development, verbal communication, creativity and following directions. It’s easy to play, just roll the soft colorful cube, pick a card of the correct color and act out the activity. Using picture cues and simple actions, everyone in the famiy can enjoy playing together. 6"(15cm)cube. From 18 months – Preschool

    Roll & Play

It's a little pricey, but you'll most likely be supporting a mom's home business when you purchase it through a local consultant. Or... you can try your local craigslist or ebay to see if you can get it, cheaper.
