Any early walkers?

My DS just seems like he wants to accomplish everything right now! He went from pulling up on his knees to pulling up on his feet in the matter of a day. Well, now I guess he's almost cruising. He'll pull up on something and then if I'm there he'll let go with one hand, grab my hand or arm, move a foot, let go and grab with the second hand, move the other foot. But he'll only do this if he's coming to me. And he'll 'walk' if I'm holding his hands.

I just can't believe he's doing this already!!! I thought I had more time before these big milestones started. I'm proud and sad all at the same time.

My question is did anyone else have an early walker? I know he's not walking yet, but I guess it's just a matter of time now. DH thinks he'll be walking at nine months. How long was it before your DC went from cruising to walking?

I'll have to get him on video and share. He's so very proud of himself. He'll stand and just grin and laugh.

My Ds David walked at 7 months. I put him down and he took 8 steps. He was on the go from that point on. Oh, and he crawled on all fours after walking. He "army" crawled before though. He also rolled over at 3 wks old. He seems to be early for everything.

I'd get ready just in case! ;) Just as soon as you turn your head and catch up they do something new.

    Right on

I don’t remember exactly when my oldest took step, but I do know he was running by 10m

My older DD walked at 10 months and did not cruise for very long. However the boys cruised for 2-3 months before walking independently at 13 months and 14 months.

My DS1 was definitely motivated to move, walking well before 9 months. Some kids will cruise for days before letting go and others for months. Have fun!

My uncle just told me that his DS (my cousin) was walking at six months, and running before 8 months. I can't even imagine!!

I am often thankful that all of my Dkids have reached their milestones late... it gives me a little extra time before the whirlwind begins!!

Wow! Way to go Jason! My earliest walker was Josh, at 10 months. He's my most coordinated child to this day!

That's how my DD is too. She just doesn't seem nearly as motivated to move.

    Thanks for all the replies!!

Don't you just scare me !! My little baby just got up on her knees today. Ok now I'm scared too. I'm trying to full-on babyproof for a toddler. Figure if I do it I might as well only do it once. I have to removed all the cleaners from all lower shelves like under the sink. I was talking to a late 70s woman today who had twins and they had every door in the house tied shut and the windows. Plus every chair tied to the diningroom table. I guess twins really work together. Another friend of mine had to lock her kids into their room because they just help each other over the baby gate.

Tell us how it goes... I've heard 7 months and 8 months from friends whose babies walked early.
