went to dr again. still high fever, drinking little, eating less, lethargic, clingy, whiny, miserable. still watery diarrhea. Fever ranging from 101-106 degrees. Was 103.7 rectally at Drs office this afternoon. All she wanted to do today was cuddle.

analyzing stool, blood, and urine. OMG was the catheter traumatic for her and me (i have history of uti and bladder illness). not a fan of the Dr we saw today (ours was on vaca).

going to take her to dr again tomorrow for followup. on antibiotics and stuff from the health food store for her intestines. poor little girl. this sucks. i hope tonight isn't as bad as last night.

Any tips to get her more hydrated? she fights us and screams on everything (water, pedialyte, bottle, sippy, etc). Almost immediately after drinking, she has painful bowel movement. i really don't want to take this kid to ER for IV fluids.

DH is going to check her at midnight (motrin, temp, change diaper, pedialyte). If high temp again, we'll have to give her another luke warm bath (like last night at 1 am - not fun).

now i gotta go do dishes. i just want to crumple in a ball and cry. my poor little girl. (if syd gets this too, i swear i'm going to have a nervous breakdown and/or another vertigo attack).

Poor little thing. Popcicles? Syringing the liquid in? Jello? When will they have the results back from the lab? Thinking of you all, and hoping she gets better soon. :hug99:

It does sound like salmonella. We had it (all 4 of us, minus baby) a year ago or so. It was horrible, we all threw up in the beginning (except my hubby) and then had watery diarrhoea for over a week, some fever (the guys quite high ones, we had just a few lines) and it was just miserable. There was nothing that we could really do other than try and keep giving them fluids.
After a week it had passed, however their stools still had salmonella in them for weeks afterwards, so be careful when handling her diapers! I tell you, you don't want to get it too and then be sick and have them sick!

That just stinks! You're poor baby...and poor YOU! I was going to suggest the pedialite popcicles. My kids just think they are getting treats so they don't fight it so bad. When mine had stomach flu, I just had to use a syringe and give them little bits very often. Was the only way I could get it in them.
