Hello, I just found out yesterday that we are expecting twins. My DH and I got pregnant on our 4th cycle of IVF. I have 3 DD from a previous marriage all naturally conceived, but because of tubal issues we had to go the IVF route in order for DH and I to have a baby. And now we find out that we will be having 2. I'm 7 weeks pregnant, and still freaking out a little bit. So any help that you all can give me I would appreciate. I have no idea what to expect, feel, what I'm going to go through. I will go see my OB again on the 21st to discuss my u/s and b/w so after that we will have a plan. Right now I am still saying that I am due at the end of May, but from my understanding you will deliver earlier with twins so my due date will probably change to early May. Sorry if I'm rambling. Thank you all in advance.

Thanks for the welcome. Are there any books that you would recommend that I get? And any advice that comes along the way will be much appreciated. I know I am still very newly pregnant, but I'm an information junkie so all that you can give me I will take. Thanks again for the welcome.

This book by Dr. Luke is what I found most helpful during my pregnancy. I wasn't a fan of "What to expect when you are expecting". :pardon: My suggestion for any newly pregnant mom of twins is to drink ALOT of water. Also, if you ever have any concerns, no matter how small you may think it is, call your doctor. :good: That's what they are there for. I'm an information junkie as well, and my advice would be to not use the internet too much. ;) Eventhough it does come in handy, there is alot of information out there and at times it can worry you more then anything.

I also freaked out at first--well, my emotions were all over the place--when I found out I was having twins. From what I've heard from others, that's pretty normal. :)
I also second the suggestion of Dr. Luke's book. It's great when you are expecting multiples.

I also agree about Dr. Lukes book ~ it is REALLY in depth (maybe a little too much for me ;) ) , but I took from what I wanted & the rest of my information I received from my OB.
Twinstuff will be a GREAT resource for you :good:

Looking forward to getting to know you!

Last night when I went to the bathroom and wiped there was some brownish pink CM on the toilet paper. I'm a little crampy this morning, but that could all be in my head. Is this normal? Should I be worried? Should I call my OB? What do you girls think?

I hear spotting and cramping are normal with twins and have had it myself. I would call anyway, to be safe. I was put on bedrest in my 8th week for the same thing. It was a good thing as I needed the rest. I noticed it was worse if I had been on my feet for a while. I'm new here too!

I would call your OB just to hear what they think, I'm sure it's nothing {I had a few days of it} but it'll put your mind at ease.

Congratulations and welcome to TS. Spotting and cramping can be normal but you should always check with your dr. I had some in the beginning too (BTW, mine are IVF babies too) and they told me that my uterus was stretching at a rapid pace and I needed to take it easy.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to call my OB and just make sure. I haven't had anymore since than and the cramping has stopped too. I just went for a bunch of b/w and urine test so I'm going to get somemore food to eat, start a load of laundry and go lay down and watch my soaps. I will make sure to take it easier and not do so much. I guess I need to remember that there are two in there.

AFM - Well I called the OB's office since I was spotting some more last night. Since it is brownish, she said that it is probably old blood that is finding it's way out, but because I'm pregnant with twins and there is a higher chance of miscarriage they want to do another u/s tomorrow morning. I go in at 9:15 for the u/s. At least I get to see my babies again, pray that everything turns out ok.

I went to the OB on Monday and the babies are doing great. HB were 156 and 160. It made me feel alot better to know that they were still there and doing really well. And it looked like they had grown a bit more too. Thanks for everyone's support. I really appreciate it.

Thanks Aimee. I agree. I'm sure there is alot of information that I(we) will be looking for in the coming future. Congrats to you also.

AFM - My day just started off bad. Ughhh! I hate mornings like this. MIL decided that she needed to take her shower when me and the girls were trying to get ready for school/work. So of course that made us all late. I mean she could have waited until we were done getting ready. It wasn't like we were showering, we were just doing our hair and stuff like brushing our teeth. ARRGGGHHH!!! This is why when we get our new house we will have now less than 2 bathrooms, hopefully 3. Ok, I have vented enough. Thanks for hearing me out.

Does anyone have anything fun planned for the weekend? We are going to take the girls to a place called Sonny Acres tomorrow. They have hay rides, rides, haunted houses(not too scary), and lots of yummy treats. We've gone there a couple times before, but now that the girls are older they want to do the haunted hay ride which is at night so we said that we would do that. Well I will talk to you all later.
