Today we had to buy Jonathan new pants--size 10! He is barely 7 years old! That is the biggest size they even sell in Gymboree (not that I have actually bought anything there in a while). Marcus is fitting nicely in the 8's, but for some reason I was blindsided by Jon being in a 10! So, after shopping today, Jon has a total of 5 pairs of pants, one dress (he really needs 2 pair, but I needed to buy jeans too), and 4 pairs of jeans. In contrast, Marcus has about 10 pair of jeans--Jon's hand me downs, and about 4 pair I thought Jon would wear, but can't be exchanged since I didn't buy them. My friend and I are off to the Osh Kosh outlet to find some more jeans/pants.

When did my boy get so big?

Wow -- size 10!! That really does seem like a big kid size. I thought size 6 was a big deal for Nadia, and her school blouses are a 7 (although way too baggy) -- but I'm sure I'll have a crisis when my kid outgrows Gymboree!

I had to LOL at this Sharon. Maddie is getting very close to wearing a 10 in girls. The 8's are fitting really well but I am guessing by November they will be too small/ short for her. Poor Connor is still wearing a 6/7. (I say poor Connor but yay for me so I don't have to buy new for both of them at the same time!)

    Oh my!!

I've noticed a big growth spurt in my guys lately, too. I think Hayden is ready for 10s in the waist, but still 8s in length. Brady's still fitting in 8s OK. They are so different from Jackson, who always needed the length but slim waist. I'm afraid the days of using Jackson's hand-me-down pants for them will soon be coming to an end!

I know what you mean. Berkley turned 8 in March and is in a 12 to 14.
Gymboree sells girls up to 12, not boys?
It's not been a great experience for me having a DD that is outgrowing her peers as for girls it's hard to keep her dressed age appropriate.
8 yr olds dress differently than 14 yr olds :(

oh, check out Crazy 8s, it's a Gymboree store that's a little less expensive and the sizes go up much higher {bigger}. Berkley prefers it to Gymbo.

We just came back from the Osh Kosh outlet, so I have a few more years there. Kind of sad that I am no longer in the "little boys" section anymore!

Oh wow! The girls have fit in size 8's 2 years in a row now, so I am sure they will be growing soon. The problem I have is with Brooke mostly. She wears 8 slims for length, and I still need to take in the adjustable waist. If she pops up to a 9 slim, they are going to be floating on her.

One thing I have noticed is their feet are growing like CRAZY! The in a size 4 (Morgan's soccer cleats are a size 6). A size 4 in kids is like a size 5 - 5 1/2 in womens right?

Wow, Sharon, that is big! My guys are still in size 8 ( or even size 7, depending on the brand) jeans, but I noticed that their feet started groing so fast! Isaac already has size 3 shoes!

Sometimes these kids grow WAY too fast.

Holly and Cassie are both just about out of girls clothes, they are in size 14. Both wear at least a size 7 womens shoes and BOTH have cracked the 100 pound mark. I'm really not ready to have to shop for them in the junior department. Those clothes are just not appropriate for 8/9 year old girls.

Its kind of funny I was talking with my SIL about hand me downs, which she used to give me from my niece who is now 13. We are now can give her hand me ups as H & C are almost bigger than K in many ways. I'd love to show you a pic of Holly and her new boots, they are suede, knee high and with a short heel. But they were $2 at the church fair and she wanted them so bad.....They make her look so grown up, and yes the are size 7. When we went to a funeral recently, and Cassie borrowed shoes from my sister, and they fit!

Holy Cow Sharon!! I just bought 7's for Jacob for schoolyear as his 6 where "high waters" Nathan can still fit in 6/7 but generally sticks to athletic pants so he can manage them at school. Shoes Jacob just fits in a 2 and Nathan when not wearing his brace fits in size 1.
