About a week ago the boys each had one diaper that was different than any others, yellow and runny, that cleared up and everything went back to normal. Now in the last couple of days I have one boy who has 1 normal movement, same as his brother, but then he will have another one sometime during the day that is the yellow runny kind, and now where ever this poop has touched his skin he immediately has red sore skin.I haven"t added any new foods, we did change diaper brands but that was 3 weeks ago and doesn't explain the change in poo for him. I don't know what could be causing this now, could a food allergy just pop up after he has been eating it for awhile? Should I go back to the basics with him and see what happens? Thanks Ladies.....

Could be teething. Sometimes the drool gets acidic poo.

I second the teething theory. Whenever mine are teething in full force their poo turns nasty(more than usual) and discolored. It also seems to cause more of a rash.

Add me to the teething theory. With my boys, I can tell when they are teething based on their diapers. Nicholas has been runny the last two days-and sure enough-his bottom second year molars are popping through as we speak!

Could be teething. Could be a bit of a virus that's just hanging on. It's so hard to know. I would put on lots of diaper cream every time you change his diaper, even if he hasn't pooped, and, as long as he doesn't seem sick, I would give it a few days to see if it will clear up on it's own.

And, yes, allergies can develop at any time, even with foods they have eaten many times. But, I think it's more likely teeth or a virus.

Yep, count me in for thinking it's teething!
