I was wondering why I haven't felt alot of movement yet, and I was 18 weeks yesterday? This is my 3rd pregnancy, and with my first I felt her at 20 weeks, and with my second I felt at 16 weeks. I am just sort of freaking out (probably for no reason)....but I also feel unusually normal, like I'm not pregnant. I went to the er last weekend and the babies heart beats were 144 and 128 (which seems low).

I just don't know whats going on! If any of you can help me get my head around this, i would appreciate it.

    Thanks,
    Juli

I had the same worries. Until 22 weeks I hardly ever felt movement and I also had a few reports of low heart rates..
Both of my placentas are anterior which keeps me from feeling anything that is not low or high...
As far as the heart beats go I think my obs office spends to little time to get an accurate rate..
Hope you feel the movements soon!

Have they told you about placenta(s) location? My SIL had anterior placenta and didn't feel movement regularly until about 24 weeks with a single preg. I would imagine that could make a huge difference, especially if you have TWO anterior placentas.

I didn't feel any movement, not even the "flutters" you hear about, until 20 weeks. My doctor said it is normal not to feel them until after that. Don't worry... it will happen soon!

I didn't feel any movement at all until week 19 and nothing consistant until 22/23 weeks.

The normal range for heart rates is 120-160 with random peaks and valleys above and below those numbers.
