My b/g twins will be 2 July 1st-just a few weeks away. My ds crawls out of his crib but my dd does not and probably won't for quite a while if ever.

They are in the same room and they are really good sleepers-1 nap a day and nightime no problems :clapping:

    1. Should I get them both "big" beds since ds is ready?

    2. Will big beds be as horrible as I sometimes hear?

Any suggestions as to how to try and make a smoothe trasition?

    Thanks!

Would you consider a crib tent? It is hard to say about how the transition will go, each child is soo different. Some do great at 18 months, some do great at 3 years.................some have a difficult time at 18 months, some have a difficult time at 3 years...................When I was in your shoes and one climbed out I got them both crib tents.

I also got a crib tent for one of mine. My boys will be 2 Friday and one started climing out 3 weeks ago, so I opted for the crib tent. I had spoken with some ladies in my twins club and they recommended it. I don't think the other has any idea or thought of even climbing out yet and I am expecting 1 baby the 1st of August, I cannot worry about trying to transition them at teh moment, I will have enough going on. The one in the tent loves it, we do kisses and then kisses on top of the tent. I think he likes that his blankets and toy car can never leave him in the crib. He even says tent when he goes to bed. I would suggest doing it, they are a little pricey though, but it is worth my extra rest right now.

My boys will be 2 on the 28th. Ethan is a great sleeper in his crib (nap and at night). Jackson was doing well with both and then went through a big separation anxiety issue and climbed out of his crib. We tried crib tents and they don't fit our crib. We lowered the mattress to the floor (inside the crib) and that worked for awhile. Long story short, after trying a lot of different things, Ethan still sleeps in his crib and Jackson sleeps on a nice mat and pillow on the floor. We tried turning his crib into the toddler bed -- nightmare. Ethan doesn't seem to mind that Jackson is "free" and Jackson is in heaven, so we are keeping it this way so we all get some sleep :)! We baby proofed the room, turned their lock on the door outside and put a gate at the top of the stairs just in case.

Good luck with whatever you decide to try :)!
