My girls are just starting to get the hang of Puffs. What's a good finger food to introduce next? They don't have any teeth yet (except for one tiny corner poking through :))I was thinking about cooking up some macaroni noodles and trying that, but then I remembered that noodles have eggs in it. Does that matter? I know you are supposed to wait to introduce eggs until later.

Double ceck the ingredient list. My girls loved cheerios at that age, but I know they make a lot of people nervous in the beginning. You can try the mesh feeders with some soft fruit, like bananas.

Someone was just telling me that the yogurt melts are great, although I haven't tried them yet. We are still just doing puffs.

After the Puffs I introduced Cheerios, they are ok, but I actually love the Kix cereal! I think they dissolve better. (I tried both in my mouth without chewing, and it seemed like the Kix would be easeir for babies with no or few teeth). There are also the Gerber Graduates teething biscuits,.... just be forewarned: They make a huge mess!

Ok, maybe dumb question - what are puffs and where do I find them? I want to start my 7 mos olds on finger foods, but dont know where to start and of course, am nervous about choking - are regular cherios ok? My friend says there is some kind of finger food that melts in the mouth a little easier - are those puffs? Ok, sorry to butt in (or hi-jack as someone else put it on another post which I thought was cute) on your post.

    Thanks.

Yes. Those are puffs. They are made by Gerber, but there are also generic brands. They are in the baby food aisle.

We did Cheerios, but my littles quickly moved on to other things...they especially love pancakes and french toast cut into small chunks, and did very well in the early stages with diced canned fruit (peaces, pears) and bananas (though bananas are slippery!).

We don't have a history of allergies in my family, so I don't worry too much about eggs when they were baked into things. We haven't had a problem.
