how many children do you feel comfortable letting an at-home daycare watch while watching your LO's?
there are 2 adults in the one i am thinking of sending my LO's to.

My dayhome lady has a maximum of 6(even though she hardly takes that many) but they have to be of certain ages. EX-she will take 2-1yrs olds, 2-2yr olds and 2-3 yr olds. I am comfortable with 6 because she can handle it, usually she only has 5 though.

I don't know how old your babies will be when you send them. For me, when I had three 1 year olds, that was all I could handle. When I started I had two 18 month olds and one 12 month old. I had my hands full. The 12 month old was just beginning the transition from the bottle and baby food, and since he didn't feed himself yet it took a lot of my time to feed him.

Now time has passed and I am keeping two 2 year olds and one 21 month old, and if I wanted to I would be able to take on 1 more infant. (I don't want to though, unless the infant is my own!)

So in my opinion, it would depend on the ages of the children. I couldn't do more than 3 under a year old for sure.

my LO's will be about 14 months.

she has two 2 year olds, she'll have almost a 1 year old and i know she has 2 kids in pre-k that are there for just a few hours everyday.
    plus my kids.
all these kids do not go everyday, either.

I could not do that many by myself, but you said there are 2 adults. If I had someone here that helped me I could take that many.

Check your state regulations. That will tell you what the max allowed is. Then you'll know the worst case scenario.

I agree check w your state regulations, I'm allowed 5 plus my own. I RARELY have that many b/c it leaves me w 9 kids. I can do it, but don't like too. Only times like this week. March Break do I ever have that many.

The daycare my kids go to have two adults too. For WA state, one person can have 6 kids at a time with only two children under two. With two adults, she is allowed to care for 4 babies (under two) and can have up to 12 kids (including babies) total. So our lady has our twins and two other babies within a couple of months of each other. It works out pretty well because one adult usually takes over the babies while the other stays with the toddlers/older kids.
