Another 36 week appt.

My appt went well. I have gained 3 lbs total this whole pregnancy. My OB isn't worried becuase at the beginning I was enrolled in a Nutrition class, so he believes that because I changed my eating habits, I just didn't pack on the pounds I would have had I left my diet the same. The baby is still measuring 2 weeks big. His heartrate was in the 130's. It was nap time. They did they strep B test and checked me for the first time. He says I am 1 cm dialated and 60% effaced. He expected to see me at my next appt, but wasn't real sure beyond that.

I was hoping he would set a date being that he said I could be induced at 39 weeks if I wanted, but not date was set.

Afterwards we went to DH's, Grandpa's wifes's (why we call her that is a whole other post) 80th birthday party. When we got there his grandpa wasn't there. When my FIL asked he was told he didn't come because the nurses that are caring for him told him he only had 2 weeks to live. The party was at the church across the street from his house so we went to visist him. It was really sad. He probably only weighs 80 pounds. He told FIL that he only has days left. We only stayed a few minutes because he was getting lots of visitors, but in the few minutes we were there, I think the girls could definately tell something was wrong. They weren't their happy, cheerful, little selves. Gracie would not let me put her down. DH is always telling me how his grandpa is confused and doesn't know whats going on, but when I hugged him, he said "This baby is coming this month right?" and I said" yes, hopefully pretty soon" and he said, " well, I hear its a little boy, and I really hope to meet him" I told DH in the car that he obviously knows what going on sometimes because he was well aware of what was going on with the baby.

So I am really hoping that the baby comes soon enough to meet his great grandpa, but I still want him to be strong enough to come home with me. I am also hoping that if his grandpa does pass, that it isn't when I am having the baby.

Anyway, sorry for such a long post, but I had to tell someone. I plan on getting a 36 week belly pic and I'll try and post that as soon as I do.

Wow, I just wanted to say congrats on only gaining 3 pounds this pregnancy. If you take 3 and mulitply it by lets say, a million, that is how much weight I have gained.

Sorry to hear about Grandpa.

 

Only 3 lbs?? That's awesome!!! I was gaining that PER week early on...lol...let's just say I'm still paying for it...hehe!

Sounds like a great appt! I hope the baby comes sooner so he can meet is great grandpa. That is just so sad. My DH"s grandpa passed away a month (to the day) before Olivia was born.

Keep up the good work...you are almost there!! Wow, everyoen is going to be having babies on here VERY soon!

 

I'm so sorry about Grampa...I'll pray he at least gets to meet your little one..

I'm jealous on the weight thing too! I have an appt this afternoon, and I am actually frightened of the scale!!!

So sorry to hear about Grandpa. That is so sad.

I am so jealous of your weight gain right now. This past month, I have put on a lot of water weight and I hate it.

Sounds like you are doing great though!

Wow 36wks!!! Soon soon he will be here!! You have to PM me when he does. I am sorry to hear about your DH's grandpa....so sad.
