So we have a jeep SBS umbrella stroller and I LOVE IT! Every time I go to the mall, it's a TIGHT squeeze to get through a door to go into the mall. Then when I am in the mall, I can't go down most clothing aisles like in Sears or JcPenny, because their aisles aren't accommodated for twin strollers. It is really rather annoying having to squeeze and maneuver through tiny doors, and aisles, and not be able to go through other aisles and doors! I don't want to get a tandem stroller, because I like giving my babies the same view point. What is there to do? Anyone else face these struggles? If not, what stroller do you use that is a SBS??

Yes, you definitely learn a little more about how inaccessible some places still are when using a SBS. My SBS (and I believe most) are made to wheelchair specs so it is not just us who can't get through.

My local mall has complimentary tandem strollers with good visibility for the kids and a big shopping bag at the back for me. They are different enough from a normal stroller that my kids enjoy the novelty. When they were younger I would leave my stroller at customer service and use the comp one. Now my girls are big enough that I can walk from the car to cust service with them and get the stroller there.

I have a Graco tandem stroller and there are still places I can't get to with it. What kills me is that it's mostly at BABY stores! I use the tandem for almost everything. I love the trays on it so I can feed the kids while I'm shopping. I have a jogger that is made to wheelchair specs and I am SHOCKED how many public facilities are not handicapped accessible. Whenever I get stuck somewhere, I try not to worry about me, but think of all those poor people in wheelchairs who can't do everything that I can. It helps ease my frustration (slightly).

Yep, you can add The Children's Place to the list of unaccessible for SBS strollers. Love the store, but I cant shop there with kids.

Yes, I find the same problems with the SBS strollers. We have a tandem one and if we know we are going into stores that aren't SBS accessible, then we take that one shopping. It's frustrating!

that's one reason I have still used my carseat carriers!! I know, I know, I'll have to switch at some point... I mean they are 10 1/2 months old... but like the pp said, there are places I can't get to with the long tandem snap & go either...

My twinkies are almost 13 months and I STILL use the carriers that snap into the tandum stroller!! I know I have to swith them too!! lol...Their little legs stick out. With my new, big carseats, the boys have to be 22 lbs min. They are just 19 and 20 lbs now so I am using that as my excuse! ;) I just love how quick easy and convientet they are. plus, I am extreamly nervous for when they are out of them...I am gonna have no choise but to take the stroller everywhere....now I can still somehow manage to carrie both of them in their carries if I just have to run in quick somewhere.

Also, I have the graco tandum stroller and the back seat is a little more elevated than the front, so they can both pretty much have the same view....and I alternate who sits in the front and who sits in the back. :)

At the top of my list of places I HATE to shop with the stroller is Kohl's. Even with the tandem I can't fit between their racks, heck if I am by myself and using their little carts I can't fit between the racks!
Like some of the pp I always worry more about the people in wheelchairs. I thought that because of the ADA that all public places had to be accessible, but obviously that is not the case.

Maybe I should start talking to managers then! Hmm I wonder if that would work.

yup, shopping with a stroller in the mall is no fun! I find those children's stores are the WORST as a matter of fact, so full of clothes with the racks way too close. But just wait, it is even more interesting when they are walking and you can't control them!!

I find most stores are not double stroller(neither SBS OR tandem) friendly, it's maddening!
