Annelise got her helmet on Friday. For those who don't know, she will be wearing a helmet for 3-4 months to correct her plagiocephaly (flat head). I think it's harder for me to adjust to it than her. :D It was just plain white and looked pretty stark, so I added a little decoration to it. She seems to be doing well. We're easing into wearing it by wearing it for a longer period of time each day. Yesterday she wore it for one hour on and then a half hour off. Today it was 1.5 hours on and a half hour off plus naps. Tomorrow it is 2 hours on, half hour off plus naps and night. Tuesday we're at the full schedule of 22-23 hours a day.

Awe, she looks adorable! I hope the adjustment period goes well. My friends twin DS had one and his head looks awesome now! We are in OH and she decorated it like an OSU football helmet!

She does look cute and doesn't seem to mind it. Our pedi wants to do physical therapy first and the helmet will then be the next step. My question for you is how do they sleep with it on?

She napped with it on today and it didn't seem to bother her. She won't sleep with it overnight until tomorrow night. I expect it will be fine. It's really not that big. It only weighs about 4 oz. The hardest part is that it is kind of hot. We won't dress her as warmly for bed anymore. We have the house pretty cool at night and so the girls sleep in footed pj's even though it's August. When Annelise starts wearing the helmet to bed, I think I'll just put her in a onesie and socks and see how that goes.

She looks so adorable and I love the flowers. As a mom who has been through the helmet thing, it is definetly harder on us then them. But it will be over in no time and it is so worth the results. Good luck.

Great idea to jazz it up a bit with flowers - so cute. I remember when I was a kid my younger sister had to wear a leg brace at naps and at night, i cried everytime my mom put it on her as I thought it hurt, but it didn't, my sister was never even fazed by it!

Both of my twins had helmets and they did just fine with them. i did plain white also and put stickers on them. They are both out of them now but they improved alot in a little time. She may not need to wear it for the full 4 months if her head rounds out faster. She is adorable and good luck it will help.

She ;looks awesome!! I just posted about my son getting his. I agree, it is much harder on us than it is on them. He doesn't mind it one bit, but I was worried about the rude comments that I might hear, but so far everyone has been really great about it. A few people even said they wished they had done it for their kids and they are kicking themselves now!

Hope the months go by quickly and I know we are doing the right thing for our babies. :)
