me and dh went out of town this weekend and it was about a 4 hour drive. On the way down there i noticed that my ankles were starting to swell. Figuring that i had over done it on thursday when we left trying to clean and going to the store to get last minute stuff and then sitting in a car for that long.. The next day we went and walked around the mall (which by the end of the day seemed to be more sore then i was used to) and the following day minture golfing, and then yesterday we drove back home 4 hours. By the time that i got home last night my feet were sore to stand on. Nothing else is swollen it just the inside of my ankles

Dh thinks that i might have over done it this weekend, and was on my feet too much, and will probably be better now that im home and taking it easy again.

Did any of you experince swelling or problems that popped quickly?? I guess since they are getting bigger now they will start to increase the weight they are placing on organ/vessles and feet will start to get worst. I guess im kinda surprized because i haven't had any issues with walking or such yet, besides out of breath/taking breaks, but i might just have to be more watchful on how much i am doing.. and making sure to drink my water!!!!

Around 22-23 weeks I noticed a lot of swelling...I had cankles! Then it sort of tapered off (especially when I got looser shoes and my feet had a little room to breathe), and then I'd have just ONE ankle swell up for a while, but now it's completely tapered off. My belly got huge, but I stopped swelling as much...weird.

I don't know when they actually started swelling some, but by 30 weeks, they were very swollen and hurt horribly. By 34 weeks, I couldn't hardly walk at all they were so bad. My OB said everything was fine and that she hated to tell me but the swelling would be actually worse immediately following the birth than before the birth - and she was right. She said things (at this point the babies) block the blood flow going down and coming back up, so it makes the feet swell.

With the twins, my doc started me on diuretics at 22 weeks because of my swelling and we did those off and on throughout the pregnancy. But I never had issues with pre-e or my bp.

This time around it started around 26 weeks. No issues with bp or pre-e so far.

And yes...for me the swelling after delivery was unbelievable!!!!!!!! I only thought I was swollen before that...luckily it only lasted about a week and then went away.

Could have been from all the sitting.
Hope you get a positive answer though.

I had swelling but nothing major. It was just kind of always there and minor. More like the pp described, cankles,

I started swelling around the same time you did and it kept up throughout the rest of the pregnancy. Usually my right side was worse then my left. What helped me was being able to prop my legs up or laying down. I, too, did not have pre-e issues or a high BP. I think the swelling was a reminder for me to take it easy!

I used to go on regular walks with DH [as long as my bladder would allow, lol]. It wasn't until my baby shower [at 32.5 wks] that I noticed any swelling. It only came when I was on my feet for long periods of time [like a couple of hours]. After about 35 wks they were here to stay. When I'd wake up in the morning they'd be fine, but almost instantaneously they'd be swolled and I'd try to keep them propped up. They started to hurt after a while [dag nabbin Cankles!!].

After giving birth though [about a week later] my feet were completely back to normal. The bone was a little painful from the pressure, but everything was fine.

I'd say keep your mobility at a moderation. Try not to be on your feet for long periods of time, rest when you can, and drink Lots of water ^_^

    GL!

I never swelled, probably because I was on a relaxed bedrest for the past few months. BUT, please make sure your doctor is aware of it, and let him know if it gets bad, because as PP mentioned, it can be a sign of pre-eclampsia.
