Angelo's Thumb Surgery..

8:30, bright & early! Pretty much, they are going to put pins in his left thumb, do some reconstruction, and put a cast on up to his shoulder! I'm still flabbergasted that it has to go up that far, but whatever works. This will HOPEFULLY be our last surgery (including his heart) FOREVER *knock on wood*. He'll be under local anesthesia & will be able to come home right after it wears off. I'll be stopping in the Ronald McDonald house to rekindle the generosity of some volunteers that we're AMAZING during his open-heart surgery, and I'll be sure to use their computer to update while I'm there =] Thanks for everyone's prayers & thoughts!

Edit : He was born with a deformed left thumb at birth. There is no reason as to why. His thumb is presented in a matter where although it has a bone, it looks like it has no joint and basically wiggles around in all directions like it's dislocated. But, regardless, Angelo thinks it's actually hilarious and does just as well, if not better, with his left hand!

 

Hi! I didn't see your original post of why he needed the thumb surgery but I wish you all the luck tomorrow for a speedy recovery!

Thanks so much guys! We're off to the hospital now. He's really cranky because he can't have ANYTHING besides water since midnight :huh: Keep you updated!
