Angelo's Heart Surgery Update

As some of you already know, Angelo has a condition known as VSD (hole in heart) & Pulmonary Stenosis (small pulmonary artery). His open heart surgery has been finally scheduled for September 8th, 2008 & recovery time will be approximately 7-10 days in the PICU (perinatal intensive care unit). Just wanted to update everyone & thank you for all the best wishes.. Keep him in your prayers!

My daughter also has a hole in her heart but that said it was ASD. They weren't sure about PS although that is where her murmer is. If you don't mind me asking, why do they have to do open heart surgery. They told me with DD, it would be a catherization (sp?). Is it location that determines that? Sorry about the questions, I'm new to this too.

My ds Jayden had open heart surgery to repair a VSD and PS ( he has a congenital heart defect called tetrology of fallot) so i can understand your worries. If you have ANY questions or concerns please feel free to pm me and I will answer any questions that I can.

I know its hard to imagine your littl eone going through that .. but they do SO well afterwards and technology has come SO far !
I'll be thinking about Angelo and wishing him well !
