I like to self diagnose. Docs don't like it, and I do admit it's probably a bit annoying BUT, this back pain I am having is not "normal pregnancy" back pain as he was telling me. I looked up my symptoms and got 'Separated Pelvis'. Prior to this I was having a hard time explaining the feeling to him so I printed up what I found and took it to my appointment yesterday and he confirmed and recommended I go to the Chiropractor. I go tomorrow morning and am wondering if any of you have had to go to get adjusted. What's it like?

An adjustment is like heaven on earth!!! I LOVE my chiropractor, especially now that I'm pregnant.

Can you explain to me what your going through? I'm having crazy back pain and muscle pain "down there".

i was seeing my chiropractor weekly by the end of my pregnancy - i couldn't have done it without! the adjustments were no big deal - he was very gentle. the only adjustments i don't like are when my neck needs adjustment & that's just because of the sound (it's similar to a really loud knuckle crack) but it never hurts.

I am glad you got the diagnoses that fit. I have never been to a chiropracter, I am a little afraid of them...lol.

My pain is also in my low low back. It is more common in women who have had any sort of injury to that area, I had a broken tailbone with compression fractures to my lower lumbar spine from a bluff-jumping accident about 6 years ago. It feels like at times one of my legs is not in the socket all the way, I have pain deep in my glut (Butt muscle) both muscle and sciatic nerve pain. When putting on pants I have to sit down because if I stand on one leg, it feels like that leg is gonna give out and I'll fall. The same for getting in and out of my SUV. Doc told me to put a trash bag in the seat, back up to the seat and put my butt in first then move my legs together as a unit rather than one at a time. Also, the worst pain is if I find myself lying flat on my back on a hard surface like the exam table or having an ultrasound. Once it took me almost 20 minutes to get out of the bathtub when I layed flat on my back. It felt like my back was going to break. Working with kids, if I have to bend over a changing table, that's the perfect angle for me to get a catch in my lower back and then I walk around like a hunchback for the next several minutes until I can loosen up enough to straighten up. Also when rolling over at night, I have to wake my husband up to grab my knees and roll me over as a unit. I've gained 30 lbs so far and I'm measuring 42 weeks, if that helps at all. Some women also have pain in the front of the pelvis and one woman here described it as being kicked in the crotch. My pain is only in the back. Hope that helps and I'll let you guys know how the appointment with the chiro goes.

I went to a chirp too. Did wonders. They do only a few adjustments and they don't seem like much but they really helped me!
Good luck and I hope you get relief ASAP!
