...but cutting the girls toenails is a nightmare! holy crap, they're so tiny - and the girls legs are so strong. i feel like i'm literally wrestling them to get one toenail cut.

as for the bad mommy award - i just realized that i've had the girls mixed up since yesterday afternoon! i unknowingly switched their shirts after their immunizations & didn't realize i still had them mixed up until i went to get them dressed this morning.

You are not a bad mommy!!!!
Fingernails and toenails are tough to do, especially with babies who are moving around while you are trying to do the job. I try to get them when they are at their happiest and most cooperative, usually first thing in the AM after they wake up.

This story might make you feel better. I have b/g twins. One morning I was dressing them and I finished only to realize that I had put my son in my daughters ruffly pink pony outfit. How do you mess that one up? :)

I HATE cutting the toenails...in fact, I don't cut them at all. I file them. I'm just too scared to cut them. Especially with their tiny toenails that are almost impossible to see. Last night before bath time DH helped by holding each girls leg, while I quickly filed away. It worked well - they weren't able to kick, and it only took a few minutes to get both girls done.

I have b/g twins, so its easy to tell them apart..and I know even the IDs can be told apart by their parents, but yours look so much alike, what was it that made you realize you had them mixed up?

i was dressing "Riley" and thinking "hey, look at that! she has the same kind of birth mark on her shoulder as Danika. how could i not have noticed...wait a minute!" thank goodness that they do have a couple of clear differences, or i'd be in big trouble!

Toe nails are horrible to cut!!!

You are not the first or the last to mix up babies. Not a baby mommy at all!!

I hate to admit this but I bite their nails off. I'm too afraid to cut them since knicking DD#1's finger as a baby; so now I feel better when I just bite them right off. We turn it into a game like Mommy is gnawing on their hands and feet. They laugh and don't fight me on it.
    Just a thought.
